It’s taken me so long to write this recap because I’ve been staring at a blank screen for eight hours. Seriously. I’ve been experiencing heart palpitations because I have no idea what to write. Was the show even an hour long last night?
Don’t get me wrong…I love my future husband Brad Womack, but there was some definite snooze moments last night.
I guess the only thing to do is bring back a popular format from last season and check to see if ANYONE was paying attention to last night’s episode.

Poor Brad is about to throw up. And that’s what I like about him. He compares his feelings with the weather…both tumultuous. (Take that SAT word Bettina’s Dad!)
He knows that someone is going to walk away with a broken heart. We all know that person is Bettina. Little Bets had no idea. I have to admit, I was on baited breathe myself. All the girls breathing heavily, including me and the ABC psychotherapist. It was a good 25 seconds before he called Jenni and another 14 before he called DeAHnna.
Brad walks Bets out to the courtyard. She says she is shocked. Brad says that this decision haunted him all day. Bettina decides that he didn’t pick her because it just wasn’t right and if he feels for Jenni and DeAHnna the way she feels for him, then so be it. Brad admits to the camera that it was just too much work. And true love should be easy.
Little waifish Bettina is handling herself well. She’s not crying. Her eyes are a bit watery, but that is to be expected. She tells her limo driver that she is still shocked and didn’t see it coming at all. I was so proud of her for not falling apart completely and then it happens. Look out below! F-bomb incoming!
Bettina: “It must be wonderful. Wonderful for him and the other girls. F-ing off the charts unbelievable. I can’t imagine putting myself out there again. I just fell in love with myself.”
And as I’m reaching for the remote to rewind to see what the heck Bettina just said, she repeats that she just fell in love with herself.
Interesting. I hope your other self brought a sandwich because girl needs to get some meat on those bones!

I dunno, I'm kinda hoping at this point that Lincee's Future Husband picks DeAHnna, because she's not quite as annoying and shallow and "heylookitme!!!" as Jenni Couric. But if he doesn't pick Miss Couric, boy, she's gonna be devastated...he keeps trying to tell her in every way possible, without coming right out and saying it, that she should open up to him because she's got Nothing To Worry About. Argh. Maybe he'll have an eleventh-hour change of heart and realize she's just a camera-grubber.

Yawn! I am awestruck that you can take such a BORING night and turn it into such a great recap! Very impressive!
Oh, MY GOD! I'm not saying I'm surprised on the outcome.. but.. I just KNEW Lincee would mention the
"Americas Cup" comment, yea really; who DOES care? That was a given! Noticed how DD's hair kept changing in each shot? First it was all blowing, misshapen.. then all the sudden it was sprayed into place. Rewind!! Its sooo obvious! Then how Bettina kept playing w/ her hair.. the WHOLE time.. twist, knot, twirl, push, push.. AAAGGGHHH! Even in the hot tub! Bless her heart! I'd never play w/ my hair so obnoxiously!

I think he'll pick DeAnna. She may seem like a mean person, but she's not. I think she's just a little bitter. After all, her mom died. I think that's normal because I had the same thing happen and usually feel the same way. At least she's willing to move to Austin, rather than keep dancing on the Phoenix Suns!
I should have saved myself an hour (alright, less than an hour, ha!) and just waited for the recap...you were much more entertaining than the actual show.
There was one moment in those 45 minutes that I thought. Lincee can use that. I don't tape any shows so I couldn't rewind. I can't remember who did it even tonight. But someone almost forgot Brad's name it seemed to me. She paused so long then said "Brad" that it made me smile.

What was ABC thinking? That was such a horribly boring show...although towards the end I thought he was going to keep Bets and DD and get rid of Jenni even though I've been a fan of Jenni's from the beginning. DD seems too perfect, and slightly fake...saying all the right things. Is she sincere? I'd say calculating is more like it. I'm sure she's a nice person.
I swear in the previews they made it seem like every girl said she loved him but Jenni didn't say that...but maybe I'm wrong.

This is how I describe last night's episode, Brad goes to Cabo San Lucas, yadda, yadda, yadda, Bettina gets the boot while figuring out that she was "falling in love BY herself". Meanwhile our fair Brad is secretly patting himself on the back saying, "So Bettina's dad, if I'm so dumb, how did I convince your daughter to fall in love BY herself? Although I don't have a formal education, I hear that these things usually work better when two people are actually engaged in the relationship."

Even ABC knows that this episode is pretty much the same which is why they smartly chose to condense the show to 45 minutes, although while viewing it, I was fully convinced that show was on an hour and a half.
I've read rumors online that not only did Brad pick DD, but they GOT MARRIED already in Cabo. Guess we'll have to wait and see.......

I SO want him to pick Jenni - I know a lot of people are down on her, but I just think they seem to have a true connection - they genuinely seem to click. But I agree with one of the other posts - I am not sure he will pick her because she hasn't truly opened up. I have grown to like DeAhnna, but Jenni is still my favorite, and I think Brad likes her the most - but maybe DD offers the complete package - no long distance for a year with that choice. But that bums me out because I think jenni is much better for him...

OK - to clarify a few things:
I read Lincee's comment about the WTA, that she was NOT invited. Which is BS by the way.
I actually saw the Brad's bar's myspace page when DD's pic was on there. The pic of DD was in a comment on his page from someone else, not a pic on the actual page. Some guy's profile pic was of him and DD in costume (DD was a slutty cop, no mask) at some bar, could be any bar on Halloween. That guy (presumably DD's friend, could even be a random Bachelor fan who ran into her) sent a comment saying 'hi from DD's friends in georgia' or something quick like that. It was just a comment, and it has since been removed. I didn't take it at all as though DD had been at Brad's bar. And...with all the legal mumbo-jumbo these 'contestants' and bachelor have to deal with, I highly doubt that they would take any chances by having her at Brad's bar with no mask before the final rose.

America's Cup comment = the ABC Intern's end of the deal for scoring a free sailboat rental. The skipper probably wanted to be on TV, but since he wasn't, Brad had to name-drop. I bet if you google "America's Cup Boats Cabo" there is only one company that comes up. YES - WE CAN ALL GO SAIL ON THE SAME FAMOUS BOAT AS BRAD AND BETT!!
Ok, couple of things: the "little skeletons" as decor in the restaurant are part of Mexican culture, and indeed many are considered works of art, along the lines of kachinas in American Indian culture. Had the cameras done some clearer and closer shots you might have been able to see the workmanship and skill of the artists. (Might have been a good idea, with how boring DD was on the date....but I digress.)
Second: I think we didn't see Chris-man last night because the show was edited to fit into 45 minutes and they took out everything they could without leaving us completely stumped.
Third: the person who commented (earlier in the day, before Lincee blogged) that there might be a major clue to the winner based on the two camera shots of Brad with each of the girls over the rose pedestal might have hit on something! Think about it: the camera is going to be on the land side, overlooking the ocean, which means that for the ring to be easily photographed, the winner needs to stand on the right side of the screen, with Brad on the left. Jenni was photographed on the LEFT side of the screen (putting her ring finger away from the camera, hence hard to shoot), whereas DD is indeed on the right side of the screen, with Brad on the left, meaning that when he proposes, and places the ring on her finger, the camera (and photographer) can zoom in and get close to the ring and to his sliding the sucker on her paw.
Much as I'm in Jenni's corner, and think DD is very wooden, I agree with the post that based on the ring shot, it's DD, not Jenni. Crap.
And can I just say that while it seems Brad hit the three-for-three jackpot, there is SOMETHING about the guy that lets him off the horn-dog hook, whereas you'll recall in previous editions of the program we've been disgusted with other bachelors who've KISSED too many women in one day! WTH??
I find it refreshing that one of the final women is so 100% set to continue achieving her dreams instead of being so pathetically eager to drop her career, family and life after spending 6 weeks filming a reality tv show with some dude who is just going to dump her and ultimately end up with a supermodel. Go Jenni. I would almost say she is this season's resident feminist...except that her "career" is being a smiley, bouncy, glorified cheerleader. Pretty sad, but still!! At least she is doing what she's passionate about, people.
I think I do hope he picks DD, though I don't trust her. She has been engaged in that phony, full-scale turbo eyebatting since episode one. And it seems to work! And she sure sounds robotic when she reads her lines, I mean, tells Brad she is falling for him.
Bettina and Brad were so awkward together that this, coupled with her train wreck family visit, makes me shocked she was so surprised to be let go. Ten bucks says Brad told her in advance she was going (as he probably told other spurned ladies, as well) and she was encouraged to say all that stuff. It was sad, though, that she said she fell in love by herself. Seems to happen a lot on this show, and just displays the power of a manipulative reality show (and the blind raging desperation of certain single ladies).
I think that the bonus question indicates that Lincee was invited to WTA. The only other choice that could be who is NOT invited other than her is "you" and I don't think any of us were invited, so that would indicate that she is.

Great recap. I can't believe you didn't mention the awkward singing moment during Brad and Bettina's date. The song was beautiful but the whole scene was a bit weird. The woman singing had such a funny look on her face I could not stop laughing!
I was shocked by how eager all of the women were ready to get "intimate" with the bachelor. Did he really sleep with all of them in a 3 day span??
I'm sure Bett's dad had a furrowed brow watching his daughter turn down the separate rooms option.
Yeah, last night pretty much sucked. I usually think the dates on the "dream date episode" are too long and drawn out, but I have to say, I kind of thought last night was lacking something due to the time crunch. I guess the grass is always greener.
I have tried to like Jenni, I really have, but I can't stand her. And, I think the biggest "connection" she and Brad have is in the crotchal region. Did you notice how Jenni said, at least three times, something along the lines of "when two people are REALLY REALLY attracted to each other ...?" Not, "when two people care about each other ..." or something of the like. I think they want to hit it and move on.
I have never had a problem with DD, and I hope she gets the guy in the end. I think he is the most honest down-to-earth bachelor yet. As for the next season(s), I heard that they asked Cosmo's most eligible bachelor to be on. I think they should bring back Charlie from the Trista season. Man did I love him!!!

When Brad is with Jenni - he just looks goofy and smitten. When he is with DD he is admiring her wit and confidence. But he doesn't seem goofy over her - kind of awkward still. Yet she seems more like wife material....

Gotta agree... holy boring episode batman! Total snooze-fest.
However... the one thing that truly surprised me was how ALL of them totally put it out there that they were hitting it in the fantasy suite. No coy moments, no flirting. Usually someone goes out of their way to say something like "lets talk all night". And yet, none of it was all that sexy to me.
I am thinking its DD and I like her. I think she's trying really hard to be real in this world that is completely created by the ABC intern. That has got to be hard!
I also like Jenni... in a fellow cheerleader, bubbly girl, I bet she's nice kind of way. I think she enjoys life. I think settling down with Brad is no where in her future, even if he picks her.
Bettina... good luck with the Daddy issues. I know a great guy here in So Cal I'd like to hook you up with. He's rich, he's handsome and he finished college. But he's just bad boy enough to make your Dad cringe.
I love that someone said DD & Brad already got hitched in Cabo. Now THAT would be a fantastic ending, for once!

all I have to say is thank heaven I waited to watch it on tivo-- at least I saved about 20 minutes of my life. great recap lincee. take good notes next week! maybe make a sign like at football games for ABC that says Amazing Brad Call and leave your phone number?!

It was a SNOOZE! Not gonna lie, I was tired and almost drifted off during the rose ceremony! Where's the drama when you need it. Although Bettina's inner dialogue was rather amusing.
I mean I love this show, but like someone else said, your recap was much more entertaining. I'm hoping Brad's fam will be fun and entertaining. If they are as cute and down-to-earth as him, I can't wait! Love Austin!

Anon 9:23 AM - I actually think if he did pick her (DD)...she'd be at the bar w/ him! I get that feeling for some reason...I'm not letting you out of my sight or something. As strong as she appears, I think there may be some underlining possessive tendencies in that regard.
I've heard that they have to sign in their contracts that there is no $ex, but how would they know?! I mean, would they go confess the next morning and say, hey, I owe you a bazillion dollars for the score last night?! Whatever. No, I bet he didn't sleep with 3 girls in 3 days. HTC seems a bit better than that. But then again, he is a guy...
And ladies (and maybe a few gents), after reading Lincee's humor for years now, I would say that she was telling us she was bitter b/c of NOT getting invited to the WTA. I could be wrong, but don't think so.

Weird. But I think she'll be the "one." ABC has given Couric too much love the whole time for her to win. I'm just saying...
Here's my thought regarding the previews of the proposal...when they show him with DeAHnna, he's looking down at her hands, not at her face which makes me think he's not picking her. Because when you feel bad, you tend to avoid eye contact. Just my thought! I know I've at least got a 50/50 shot at it, though! :)
If Brad actually picks DD, I think it will be because she's the kind of girl he's always wanted to want him: smart, aloof, beautiful; but I think Jenni is more of a long-term fit for him. DD isn't going to like the action at the bar with a now-famous Brad attracting attention. I agree if he picks DD, Jenni should be the new Bachelorette. She is not the most beautiful woman in the world, but she has a down-to-earth sense of humor, fun and drive that's appealing. If Brad watched the shows, and he DID pick DD, imagine how he feels....she bares the claws, man!

I know DD and she truly is a mean person. she didn't take brad back to her hometown of Newnan; she took him to Canton instead because she knew it was too risky to take him where everyone knew what she is. nothing that has come out of her mouth is true except her mother's death. she was arrested last year for serving alcohol to minors & has been trying to get onto any reality tv show she could, but that wasn't mentioned. (she almost made it on the Real World a couple of years ago). when she made the Bachelor, she deleted her Myspace page that was full of her drunk, compromising pictures. good luck Brad if you pick her. you'll need to disinfect yourself.

Am I really the only one that caught the fact that Jenni didn't relax around the dolphins until she was able to dance with it? Or are we all so over her and her dancing that we just tried to block it out of our minds? What is with this girl? And by the way. . she may look like Katie Couric, but she sounds just like Audrina from "The Hills" when she talks. Which only reminds me of Justin Bobby, whom I can't stand! For that reason (along w/ her "So You Think You Can Dance" season long audition), she totally bugs!! I think Brad should just hang it up and come back home to Austin. But not without stopping in Houston and asking our dear sweet Lincee out for a date! Our Host Chris Harrison could be the best man at their wedding! And Hilary could be the Maid of Honor. When they have kids, crazy "harvested eggs" dr. can deliver the babies, and that chick from Dr. McHottie season can be their kindergarten teacher! This show really does bring people together!!

Lincee--you're done it again--this week's short episode was so lame and we all knew Bets was going home, but your recap was still the highlight of my day. I love how you always catch the most subtle things like Best pulling away from Hotness in the hot tub--what WAS she thinking???
I hope he doesn't choose DD....she is a snarling witch! seriously, look how she treated the other women. Too bad Brad doesn't get to see the shows before he chooses.....he'd see that Jenni was above reproach the whole time, even when her character and intentions were attacked by the other girls.
Go Jenni.....all the happiness in the world with or without Brad. Actually, I hope he does choose DD because we all know how these relationships end and I'd hate to see Jenni have to deal with the eventual break up but DD kinda deserves it.
The only reason I think it's Jenni is because DD did not get a good edit during a few episodes. Even when she was one upping Jade on the two-on-one date and got the rose, she came off as really rude. I can't think of anything overly negative that has been shown about Jenni.
Great as usual Lincee, but PULEASE let us know whether or not you were invited to the WTA! I was under the impression that its a NO. WTF Chris?
Anyway- I don't have too much to say- other than DD needs to borrow Bev's spanx from last season- she looked major pregnant (new twist on the show--hee hee).
And Jenni's dress looked like she had made it or something (good catch Karen!)

I must be the only one that thought that DD looked pregnant at the rose ceremony?? Wasn't she really skinny in some of the first/pool party episodes??? Maybe she was just bloated from some contaminated Cabo water...
After listening to the radio interview that was posted above, the Tell All was taped last already, so I assume that Lincee was NOT there? If so, she'd better dish it up!

Okay for those who think that they've figured out who won based on editing, think again. Over the past three seasons, ABC has gotten a lot better about their editing.
fun in SF! where did you hear that Bevin dating Dr. Aushucks Andy rumor? I heard he was dating some Isreali model rumor, but not that one. This is off topic, but i read an interview that Bevin did somewhere and based on that I realized that maybe she did get more of the psycho girl edit.
Now back to Brad... I honestly have no idea who he is going to pick but based on the last two shows, he seems to have the most chemistry with DD.
Did anyone else catch where Chris Harrison said there was three more episodes left? The only reason I noticed it (I think) was because I was trying to figure out how there would be three episodes, unless they are breaking up the finale over two weeks..... Even with WTA, there should only be two episodes left, right?

3 more episodes: next week is WTA, then the girls go to meet HTC brad's family and then the final rose ceremony...
Here is my take: After being apart for 3 months most of the bachelor couples last for a couple of months and then break up. If he picks Jenni who already has a career out of state, they'll both be living their own lives while trying to make a long distance relationship work. She's independent and most guys want that in a woman. Jenni's always been a bit of a challenge because of her career and we all know men LOVE that. (Guys, am I right?) PLUS she didn't utter the L word.
DD has already professed her love for him and if he actually believed her he may be getting cold feet because they've only known each other several weeks (depending on how long taping actually is). Brad's 35 and he says he's looking to get married and have a family but he might just want to ease into it over a year than just jump into it right away.
I think he picks Jenni.

I haven't seen anyone comment on Brad asking Bettina about how her family would react to her moving to Austin - I mean, isn't she in So. Cal? Austin's closer to DC than California! Although I can't say I blamer her for wanting to be as far away from them as possible!
It surprises me that these girls that are real estate agents (I think Bettina and DD both are) are just willing to pick up their life and career and move to a completely different city! It takes a long time to get established somewhere as an agent and to just move for some guy...but I guess they are also banking (literally) on the fact that if they are on the Bachelor- that people will want to look for houses with them...just a thought...

I must be crazy because I liked Jenni's dress and didn't like Bettina's. I'm not a huge fan of ruffles. And so many people on this site are asking about Bettina's dress that I'm starting to think the designers are planting all these inquiries to drum up interest! :)

I think Bettin said that she fell in love "by herself." She fell in love, but Brad didn't. So she did it by herself.
