Please Lincee dont wait until after tomorrow to post like you did last season. i will die by then!!! since this season ended with a huge let down the only thing that will make it better is two more posts one for last nights episode and one for the after the final rose. please, please, please? there is nothing else to save this season. : ) nothing good came out of it and now i have to wait for the next season to hopefully have that happen and have you blogging about it. please???
Everyone, let's all calm down now. It is just a show. Yes, I too am disappointed, but we still got to watch HTC Brad all season, right??
And...let's just remember, our darling Jen Scheft did the very same thing when it came to the final rose. We're we as hard on her?? Play fairly everyone.
I think that Brad was unrealistic...thinking he could date two girls and not have strong feelings for both. If he would have met Jenni and dated her in the real world (one girl at a time)he might very well have proposed.
He had his ideal of the way the right woman would be (more like DD)and he tried to make his heart go there and he couldn't.
Real love is less than "ideal". That is why divorce is so common. (I am a therapist...so I do have some room to comment!)
I never cry over this kind of stuff and I cried when Jenni left. I think they truly had a connection and she really cared. She wasn't "perfect" though! Brad - who is??
She actually said, "I will do whatever it takes to make you happy..." and I think she meant quit the Suns and relocate to prove she cares.
What is wrong with giggling by the way...? When I am happy I giggle too!
Wow! You guys are HARSH. I am surprised that so many viewers were axiously awaiting a predictable, 50/50 choice, happily-ever-after story. I actually found it rather interesting that it didn't end along those lines. To call it a waste of a season is mindboggling. Was Romeo & Juliet a waste of a story because they both died at the end? Come on!
You haters out there who are calling him gay, saying he has committment issues or was just just using this for publicity for his bars is just wrong. Why is it not plausible that none of these women were what he'd hoped to find? The citicism should be that he agreed to go on television to find a soulmate.
Way to go HTC Brad! We have a better match for you anyway and her name is Lincee.
Many posters are forgetting that this is a reality tv show. Everyone involved is aware of what they are participating in. For any of these women to even pretend that they are on the show to sincerely find a relationship .. well, they are lying, delusional and/or crazy. It's a TV SHOW!!! I don't feel badly for anyone for being made a fool of on tv, no one forced them to apply to the show. How could someone know the history of this show and have even a glimmer of hope that 'your' bachelor would be the real thing? It's nuts, but sure is good tv.
I'm new to this Lincee blog (you are my new hero, L.) - Do WE REALLY HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW FOR THE RECAP????????? I'm checking the blog like a mental patient. End my suffering!!!
To the people who say it is okay to not fall in love at the end, well, sure. I totally agree with that, but it is so wrong to say the things he did, talk about being his wife, mother of his children, etc and then dumping them! He either completely led them on or ABC was egging him on to lay it on thick, even if that wasn’t what he was feeling. He should win an Oscar for his performance!! Brad, best of wishes in Hollywood and/or sales in your bars!! And to think that I fell for the aw-shucks Texan act.. I am from Austin and had really been looking forward to a non-jerk Bachelor for once!!!
I can't remember Brad's exact words but didn't he say something about feeling something for both girls and when he's with one he thinks about the other?? Perhaps he wanted to get back to real life and figure out who he missed and who he really wanted to talk. ABC couldn't "forbid" him from talking to either of them after the whole thing was said and done and maybe he wanted to see what happened when life returned to normal.
I think we need to begin a series of phrases that should never EVER be used on The Bachelor in previous seasons. Like, if these phrases are used, said contestant is immediately booted. I'll start: (1) someone is or is not "here for the RIGHT reason" (2) "feeling a CONNECTION with (used in any permutation) (3) "The most (whatever) Bachelor EVER" (ok, only ABC can be dumped for this) etc.....
I feel the same way about Survivor, incidently. Is there anyone out there who doesn't have Jeff Probst's script memorized? "Come on in" (said when survivors congregate for a competition. "It's time to vote" "I'll go tally the votes" "Once the votes are tallied, the contestant must leave the area immediately" "Get a look at the new XYZ tribe: NAME voted out at the last tribal council." etc. Even old Jeff's inflection remains the same.
Ok, I digressed, sorry. For the record, I don't blame old Brad for not choosing either girl--the difference between them was striking: DeAnna: felt she was the best choice and he was going to be an idiot not to choose her; Jenni: would do anything for him. I'm sure, in watching the show, Brad feels a LOT better about not choosing DeAnna, since she has such a mean side....and Jenni doesn't fit what his vision is... Great mindless girly entertainment, but Lincee's recap (which I'm waiting for eagerly) makes i all worthwhile!
this brad dude is like the best business man ever - he knows how to do it right. more business, more attention, more whatever.
i want to see what chad's wife looks like - i kept thinking she would be on the show too and talk about how it was to play brad.
any season of the bachelor is going to be hard to compare to this one - you can't get more shocking than going a WHOLE season and getting a whole lotta nothing at the end.
On the ABC site, someone said this was posted on his myspace page last night. The last paragraph says he WILL give out a final rose?!?
>>I have been asked by fans on the West Coast to request that no spoilers be posted on my Myspace comments section prior to the show being aired on the West Coast. If you could help me out and honor this request, I will be more than thankful to all of you.
As a reminder, there will be a final show tomorrow night at 10pm/9 Central on ABC, "The Bachelor: After The Final Rose". Be sure to tune in for that.
I hope everyone is just as excited to find out who the final rose will be given to as I am to share the moment with my fans. I appreciate all the kind words and support throughout the season!
So Stacy... does this mean he is going to give out a final rose tonight? I was kind of hoping that might be the case. Wouldn't that be a total twist?? I live in L.A. and I am KICKING myself that I didn't try to get on the ATFR show!
Or does it just mean in general... as in this was posted before last night's show aired? I can't believe how much time I've wasted on this already today! haha!
Wow!! I knew we'd all have a lot to say, but I was surprised at the number of comments already!! Tee Hee!! Lincee, you need to feed the animals. . quickly!!!
So I have two theories! 1) Brad is truly genuine, with a good heart, and he was being totally honest that he could not just ask someone to marry him in that way. Which only makes me heart him more! 2) In probably the most ingenious marketing campaign to date, he simply went on the show to gain more publicity for his bars, as well as the hotels that he and his brothers are planning to open! He just got 12 weeks of free marketing!! How's that for smart Betinna's dad?? Can't get brains like that in any Ivy League school!
With either scenario, you gotta love this guy! And what I love even more. . .he's still single!!
I think the whole show was staged and scripted. But it did point out one very sad reality. Men lie to women when they want something from them but after they get it, they're gone.
Did anyone else hear him say "I love you" to Jenni as he was hugging her and saying good-bye? I think he did the right thing by not proposing if he didn't think it was right but it stinks that he would say I love you when he's dumping someone. Just saying ....
After watching close editing, I believe that Brad said goodbye to Deanna first. If you watch carefully, when Brad is talking to Deanna there is a line where Brad says "I just said goodbye to Jenni..." At this point the camera changes to an angle that shows the side of his face, and you can clearly see he is NOT saying that. This inconsistency happens on moer than one occasion. Another misleading comment is when Deanna says "The fact that he didn't pick either one of us..." at the point in the show when she is riding in the limo. This comment, however, is also edited in, as she says it in a very different voice, and we do not actually see her saying this while in the limo. Perhaps after Brad gets rid of Jenni the camera crew goes back to the hotel and tells Deanna that he didn't pick Jenni either, and they got these soundbites (as well as get the awkward scene of her walking in the hotel).
I think Brad freaked out because it was his first time to say goodbye. He didn't want to have to break anyones heart and he was so nervous about saying goodbye. Again, Brad DID NOT say "I just said goodbye to Jenni," and the camera pans out. When it zooms back in we see Deanna with an entirely different expression, which leads me to believe he says something along the lines of "but you're not the one for me," which explains why Deanna looks so sad when Brad gets off of the podium. If Brad had truly said that he had just gotten rid of Jenni, don't you think Deanna would have been all smiles when he freaked out and got off the stage, thinking he was just nervous about proposing. I also think that when he finally broke the bad news to Deanna she would have said something along the lines of "I can't believe you didn't pick either one of us!!!" instead of crying about how she was going to regret not picking HER.
Another clue, when Brad is with Jenni he says "I just couldn't find really find love....with us" but the 'with us' is again edited in. Also, Jenni says "I hope you find true happiness," which any girl who has just been dumped is more likely to say if she finds out hes dumped them both, than just her. I think Brad dumping Deanna first also explains his sad face when Jenni walked up and why he was in such a hurry to rush Deanna out the door (because Jenni was coming!).
If you watch the boats in the background they seem to be moving in a constant direction that implies that Jenni arrived after Deanna, and although the limo shots make it look later when Deanna is here, these are the plain limo shots, that do not have either girl in it.
Should this really be a surprise? No, ABC has been known to edit shots that lead the viewers to believe a different final person is chosen, but this is the most misleading editing that they have had (at least that I have picked up on). I am very intrigued to find out when Jenni and Deanna actually knew Brad wasn't choosing either, although like i said before my theory is the producers approached Deanna in the hotel to pass along the info.
Every commitment takes some leap of faith. If he wasn't prepared to trust his heart he should have stayed home and saved us all a night of tossing and turning.
Ya'll I saw this posted on another site that is discussing the finale. I personally thought from the beginning it was a PR deal for him. I mean, seriously. It was pretty obvious from all the PR he has done and on myspace and the fact they want to expand. They want to increase revenues. Free Advertising. Lame but true. Anyway here is the post (copied pasted)

This guy owns a club down the street from my apartment called, The Marq. A friend of mine is a cocktail waitress there. She said he did all this for publicity and has totally been fucking random girls since he came back from shooting the show. That the only reason why ppl do these shows. Nobody finds love…except for Trista and Ryan. And, I’m counting down to their destruction. lol
"Men lie to women when they want something from them but after they get it, they're gone."
Please. That's like saying all women are superficial gold-diggers. Which clearly, please admit, is precisely what these women were. Would they have given a rat's ass if this guy had not been rich?
Bottom line, you go looking for love in a fantasy world (AKA TV Land) you're gonna take an extra hard fall when you come back down to earth. But that's entertainment I guess.
What about the ex-girlfriend the internet is buzzing about? Some girl name Laurel that many say Brad was not over and was text messaging the entire time he was doing the show.
Google it and there are lots of stories that come up abut this.
His feelings for her could explain why he picked neither. HOWEVER, it does not explain why he so deeply lead them on.
I think Brad was really trying to find the woman for him. I think he had every intention of moving forward with Deanna at the end, but just couldn't do it. I believe he really cared for her but knew she wasn't "the one." The characters at the end never break up, while the people in this show alomst always do. And lastly...a 6 year old watching this show!!! There is a reason it's on at 9pm- it's for ADULTS!!!
Anon 10:35 - the picture of DeAnna was at his bar - the Chuggin' Monkey. I have been there many times. I saw the picture when it was up on his site, and I am 100% confident that it was at his bar on Halloween.
Brad did NOT say "I love you" to Jenni when he whispered to her. I listened to it over and over again. He had just told her that "there is nothing at all embarrassing" about telling someone your feelings. Then he whispered "at all" again.
In the grand scheme of things this does not matter but for clarification the "peas" that Jenni served were actually edamame which makes sense since she was also serving sushi.
My older sister taught me at a young age to say the ABCs, so when it was time to learn them in school, I memorized them backwards, and it has been my "stupid human trick" since I was five years old. I can also talk like I’m stuck in a closet.

okay, edit:
The top of the myspace page says, "brad is giving the final rose Monday at 10/9 central".
So the note was referring to last night & was written by an intern. And there was no rose given last night, big ol liars, ABC.
Boo. I got kind of excited.

Are they kidding me? I watched an entire season of The Bachelor only to have him walk away just as single as he was when he started????
Anon 10:45a
YES. And when you put it like that, I get a little huffy too!
ABC...stop airing The Bachelor. Obviously something's not working. Bring back The Bachelorette!!!!
Wait a minute! Isn't Lincee in NY??? Nooooooo. Lincee you have to do the recap, we love you

After reading 9:23 thought Lincee was back! If I had a "whole entire life" I couldn't sum up the finale as we know Lincee will...
