Who feels robbed?
Well…besides Jenni Couric and DDAHnna, but that’s a given.
I feel robbed because my viewing pleasure was RUINED last night by my own ignorance. Hate it when that happens.
I volunteer on Monday nights and always rush home afterwards to watch Dancing with the Stars, the Bachelor and Chuck (in that order) from about 9:00 to 11:00. That’s right. Three one-hour shows in two hours. This is why you must have a TiVo or DVR people. It’s a time SAVER…not a time waster.
So club ran a little late last night. I got home around 9:45. Called my sister to see what her reaction was to the final rose. She too, being a smart person, was watching a digital recording of the show and was telling me how bored she was. We were visiting about my upcoming Thanksgiving trip to New York City and how ticked off I am that Broadway is black this week when it happened.
Like an idiot, I started flipping through the TV channels absent-mindedly. And there was DDAHnna crying in a limo. OH I was so mad. I enjoy the suspense. I like being surprised. And I had just ruined it for myself.
I hang up on Jamie laughing her butt off at me, search for my laptop to take notes when my phone rings again. It’s my pregnant friend Karen who has been on bed rest for about 88 months.
Lincee: “Are you in labor? Has the baby come?”
Karen (sounding weepy): “No. I just want to know what you thought.”
Lincee: “I haven’t watched it yet. Are you crying?”
Karen: “Just a little.”
Lincee: “Is it that dramatic? Or are these your crazy hormones talking?”
Karen: “Well, I’ve been feeling some pressure this evening. We’ve been contemplating if I should go to the hospital, but I wanted to watch the last 10 minutes of the show. Call me when you are done.”
That’s a true fan ladies and gentlemen. FYI: Karen did not have her baby. The pressure went away. She is a crazy prego woman, but you’ll be happy to know that she and Ryan have decided to name the baby Chad Brad. Or Christopher Harris.
So now I’ve punched play and have just been told by our host Chris Harrison that this is the most dramatic finale in Bachelor history when the phone rings AGAIN. It’s Jamie.
I punch pause. Again.
Jam: “Are you watching this?”
Lincee: “Trying to.”
Jam: “Call me when you are done.”
Interesting…I’ve received two “call me when you are done” so something exciting must happen. SWEETNESS!
Then little boxes start popping up on my computer.

Needless to say, I had pumped myself up for some serious drama. Our host Chris Harrison wouldn’t lie to me!
SIMPLE DISCLAIMER
The following information you are about to read is of personal opinion. You probably aren’t even reading this because the simple disclaimer has been a part of my recap since the days I emailed this puppy to just a few of my closer friends. HA! Fooled you. You’ve skipped this witty banter and will not know what in the world your friends are talking about when they say, “Did you like the new disclaimer Lincee did?” However, if you or someone on your Facebook page happens to personally know, sort of know, know the brother/cousin of, thought you saw in the grocery store buying spaghetti O’s or have a Pilates instructor that looks exactly like one of the Bachelorettes on the show...none of this is personal and I'm sure they are all lovely people.
Meeting the Womacks
We see Brad drinking coffee from his beach house balcony looking mighty sad. He is confused. Poor thing is head over heels for two women and doesn’t know what to do.
Luckily, wonder twin Chad, other brother Wes and Mamma Pam are to the rescue! They will help Brad choose the love of his life!
Brad: “You guys are really going to love DDAHnna. She’s strong and independent.”
Mamma Pam: “Where’s she from?”
Brad: “She’s from Atlanta.”
Mamma Pam: “HOT DOG! A Southern girl. Does she eat grits?”
Before Brad can answer that important question, the doorbell rings. Brad jumps up and runs to let one of the loves of his life in to meet the family.
Brad: “Guys…this is DeAHnna…not DeANNa. She’ll get mad at you if you mess it up. And I’m not playing. She’s a bit sensitive to her name.”
Mamma Pam: “Well, I can’t get all that straight. I’m going to jump right in and call you DD. Or Sweetheart. How about Sugar Plum?”
Wonder Twin: “Hi. I’m Brad. SYKE!”
Other brother: Rolls eyes and gives thanks that he got the brains of the family.
The group heads to the balcony to have drinks. Mamma Pam is excited to see that Brad is really into Sugar Plum. Brad tells the brothers that DDAHnna tended bars for eight years and that if she is chosen, they will not only gain a sister-in-law, but an employee. Everyone laughs. Wonder Twin and Other Brother run off to find a football. Mamma Pam talks about how one cup of sugar should be added to all baking ingredients. And DDAHnna allows herself to think about her wedding for exactly 10 seconds as Brad affectionately brushes her hair behind her ear.
Mamma Pam and Sugar Plum have some alone time. They talk about how she’s in love, wants a big family and how she is hoping for a proposal. Mamma Pam is SOLD and is eager to get back to her boys to spread the good news!
Unfortunately, boys will be boys and that moment never arrives. Wonder Twin and Other Brother shove Brad in the pool and then jump in after him.
This makes me love the Womacks even more! And DDAHnna agrees with me. She said it was good to see him not so serious.
A dripping wet, hotter than crap Brad walks DDAHnna to her waiting SUV. He feels bad that he can’t hug her and give her a proper goodbye. Lincee thinks DDAHnna is an idiot for not grabbing him in a long embrace and making out right there, but those are my issues I have to deal with. He says he will miss her. She says she loved his family. She confesses to the camera that she feels like she could be his wife and that it’s scary that he may not choose her.
Back in the Bachelor pad, we see Brad and Chad in clean, dry clothes. Poor Other Brother has a little more girth than the twins and was not able to raid Brad’s closet. An irritated ABC intern is sent to the local Gap to purchase some clothes. We can’t have Other Brother walking around in a shorty robe, now can we?
Meanwhile, Jenni Couric bounds through the living room giving three cheers for the Womacks! Brad tells the camera that he is always on cloud nine when it comes to Jenni and as a result, hugged her forever. And then fixed her hair.
Does someone have a fetish? I think so!
The group goes out to the balcony to have some lunch. Mamma Pam asks Jenni if she has told Brad that she loves him. AWKWARD! Jenni says that she has not. Mamma Pam cocks her eyebrow at Jenni and requests some alone time so she can talk some sense into her.
Mamma Pam: “You know that old saying about how you are not marrying my family…you are marrying me? Well that’s not true in Brad’s case. You are marrying all of us and if I don’t pick a nickname for you in the first 10 minutes of meeting, you are on a very bad list young lady. Now let me ask you again…if Brad got down on one knee and asked you to marry him, what would you say?”
Jenni: “Yes! I love you! Let’s go right now!”
Mamma Pam: “That’s my Honey Bun. Let’s get back to the boys before they do something silly on national TV. I saw some irons in the shape of roses in the BBQ pit. I think Wonder Twin and Other Brother may try to brand my baby before you leave today. C’mon.”
Jenni: “Tossing the pigskin with the boys was so fun. I love being with Brad’s family. It makes everything so perfect. I’m ready to be a part of their family. Jennifer Dawn Womack. That sounds good, huh?”
Meanwhile, Brad needs some clarity. And where do you go to find clarity? Your Mamma.
Mamma Pam: “Are you in love?”
Brad: “I feel like I’m going to break two hearts…mine and the woman I don’t choose.”
Mamma Pam: “It was easier for me to talk to Sugar Plum. You’ve made this a difficult decision for all of us. Go get some straws and we’ll pick. Shortest goes home.”
Brad: “Thanks for nothing Mom.”
Alone Time with DDAHnna/Sugar Plum
DDAHnna sees herself marrying Brad, living happily ever after and cooking lasagna for him every night.
Brad: “It smells good in here!”
DDAH: “I baked!”
Lincee: Where the crap are they?
Brad: “This lasagna is good. So good.”
DDAH: “I’ll be crushed if you don’t pick me.”
Lincee: Seriously. Is this some random apartment complex that ABC has taken over for the day?
Brad: “I have very strong feelings. You are everything I’ve always looked for in a woman. You will be an incredible wife and better mother.”
DDAH: “It’s reassuring to know that you are thinking ahead.”
Lincee: I’m convinced this is the “option A” model floor plan.
Brad: “So are you going to yell at me when I leave the toilet seat up?”
DDAH: “I’ll let it slide one or twice. Then we have to talk. Same with the dishes and laundry. We have to do it my way.”
Lincee: Does anyone decorate with hunter green, maroon and navy blue anymore? And why are they talking about toilets?
Brad: “I want to be honest with you.”
DDAH: “I want to be happy. I want this for the rest of my life. That’s what scares me. I am falling in love with you and see myself marrying you. If you do not choose me, you choose the wrong person.”
Lincee: SNAP!
Alone Time with Jenni Couric
Brad: “Tonight, I have to put DDAHnna out of my mind and focus on Jenni.”
JC: “Today, I’ve been a huge mess. It’s the last time I get to see him before he makes huge decision.”
Lincee: Then why are you serving him peas?
JC: “When it comes to me, you have nothing to be scared about.” (Followed by a flood of tears and a bunch of apologizing and saying, “I’m sorry!”)
Brad: “Look…scoot next to me…don’t apologize. You have nothing to be sorry about.”
Lincee: You don’t get many “scoot next to me” in this day and age. Again. Why I heart Brad.
Then there was a bunch of boring talk about feelings and being scared and chopsticks and being real with each other and more apologizing and a bit of ugly crying to round out the night.
Finally.
And then she brings out a journal that she wrote for him. Here we go again…
Bunch apprehension that he’ll think she’s goofy, talk about how she loves everything about him and wants Brad in her life, etc.
Then she takes a deep breath and tells him she is falling in love.
That turns into another long soliloquy of Jenni Couric literally pouring her heart out to Brad through tears, gasps, gulps, snot and sweat. It was a beautiful thing.
Brad then goes to pick out an engagement ring. The best part about this two minute segment was the 15 seconds we saw of him getting dressed.
Final Rose
Brad tells the camera that he knows what he’s going to do and is confident in the decision he has made. It’s all about following his heart. It’s the most difficult thing he has ever done.
Limo pulls up. Our host Chris Harrison opens the door and extends his hand to Jenni.
Brad: “How are you?”
JC: “Good, you?”
Brad: “Good.”
I figure she probably knows at this point.
Brad: “I’m standing here looking at somebody that brings out a different side of me. And I hate to say this, but I want something more that I can’t find with us. Never thought I’d tell you goodbye…but here I am…and it breaks my heart. Please look at me. I want you to know how much I care and how much this hurts me. If you have anything to say, please say it.”
JC: “I can’t. I feel embarrassed for telling you how I felt.”
Brad: “There is nothing embarrassing about a person telling someone how they feel. It’s only on ABC which happens to be on national TV. But most people are probably watching Monday Night Football right now. So don’t worry. No one will remember this by the time you dance for the Phoenix Suns. A new Bachelor will be on in the spring to waste everyone’s time. Come here to me and give me a hug.”
Brad puts Jenni in the car and watches her drive away. He tells the camera that there is not a single thing he’s looking for in his ideal wife that DDAHnna does not possess. He then says, “It makes me more nervous for what I’m about to do.”
In true ABC trickeration, the sound guy plays romantic piano music when our host Chris Harrison leads DDAHnna to the guillotine.
Brad: “You look beautiful.”
DD: Looking scared.
Brad: “I told someone I was done when I saw you for the first time.”
DD: Looking hopeful.
Brad: “Remember when you said marriage is one time and one time only…I feel exact same way.”
DD: Smile spreading across her face in excitement.
Brad: “I just said goodbye to Jenni…”
DD: Wave of relief on her face!
Why Brad? Why in the WORLD did you start your breakup sentence with, “I just said goodbye to Jenni.”
Bless DD’s heart.
Then he starts fiddling with the tie. Pulling at the collar. She’s amused for a split second thinking it’s endearing because he is nervous to propose. She then realizes that this is what he does when he’s disappointed someone. She was there for the Hillary debacle. Remember? THE MOST DRAMATIC EXIT IN BACHELOR HISTORY! He leaves the proposal pedestal (sponsored by Home Depot) and starts pacing the enchanted garden. Poor DD has a deer in the headlights look. She knows this can’t be good. He returns to his spot, marked clearly by the ABC intern with a piece of blue electrical tape and begins his speech:
“I look at you and see so many things that I never thought I would have in my entire life. I have so many feelings for you and I want so badly to be confident to pick you up and twirl you around and give you a diamond ring. But I can’t look you in your eye and tell you I love you. Can’t give you a promise that I can’t keep. I refuse to do that. I have to tell you goodbye.”
I would have given $1,000 to see DD hop off the Home Depot pedestal and start pacing before she responded. That would have been classic.
Instead, she asks very smart questions:
DD: “How you can say goodbye? I guess my feelings are different. Am I a friend?”
Brad: “No…not at all. Love means so much to me. I refuse to give you false promises.”
DD: “That doesn’t sound right. If you care about someone, how can you watch them walk away?”
Brad: “I never meant to hurt you.”
DD: “Well I’m hurting.”
Brad: “Do you know how much I care about you?”
DD: “No I don’t. I thought I did. Until just now. (Hold it together DD.) I thought I had it all figured out. This is why I never wear my heart on my sleeve.”
Brad (teary eyed): “Don’t say that to me. Come here to me.”
Poor DD turns her head away from the camera and sobs in Brad’s shoulder. Little did she know that there was a secret bush camera and we saw the whole thing. But she held herself high with as much dignity as any of us would have in that situation I think.
DD: “So what happens when you regret your decision?”
Lincee: Saucy!
Brad: “I have to walk you out right now.”
Brutal Brad. Was the rent up on the bachelor pad or something? Did you have to pack up and head back to Austin because the bar business is doing so well with your new found fame? Or is it that you can’t handle the pressure of a broken heart? Need to go sit on the Home Depot pedestal and stare at the engagement ring for a good 30 seconds while the crane camera pulls away for a wide shot? Yeah…that’s what I would do too.
And don’t your hearts go out to Jenni and DD? Bless their hearts. DD’s poor lonely walk down the hallway to her hotel room. Just tragic.
I say Brad is an okay guy. My theory is that he was approached in his bar to be the next Bachelor. Having probably never heard of the show, he did some research and learned that it NEVER works out. He called a meeting of the minds with his partners Wonder Twin and Other Brother. They ran some numbers and thought it would be good for business to partake of this little reality show. Worse case scenario, he makes ABC write into his contract that he doesn’t have to pretend propose or pretend date the girl. Best case scenario, he finds someone that he is legitimately interested in.
Does he have commitment issues? That wouldn’t surprise me if it were true. Is he a heart breaker? I don’t think on purpose. I think he went in to the show with a view of fun and 15 minutes of fame for his business. I think he came out feeling like a door knob and probably regretting he agreed to do it in the first place.
I guess we will find out more tonight during AFTER THE FINAL ROSE!
All about the shame, not the fame,
Lincee

1 – 200 of 222 Newer› Newest»The little girl in me that loves fairy tales was disappointed, the adult in me was pleased a guy on this show finally recognized the difference between love and lust. He's too attractive for me (I prefer to be the prettier person in the couple, and he beats me by a country mile) but I say Chris Harrison should do whatever it takes to get Brad and Lincee together! A good match!
I disagree, dear. I think Brad was in it for his 15 minutes, and that makes him a bad guy. I know you love his chest, but he broke those two ladies. Not good, Brad.
I am off the bandwagon.
Fantastic recap!! You got it all girl...
And I agree with what you said, I think you hit the nail on the head. I just feel so bad for both girls. I know I would be so embarrassed! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait until tonight either!!!!
fantastic blog as always Lincee! I'm in for the road trip, name the date. I do think that either Hilary or Jenni Couric should be the next Bachelorette.
Jenni Couric has to focus on her dancing... I vote for Hillary to be the next Bachelorette!!
Do you hear us ABC???
ABC...I'm still waiting for something...hope I get it tonight!
Well...
It's cool and understandable if he didn't want to jump into an engagement with one of these women after only six weeks. But. It does seem strange that he would choose to just say, "goodbye," thereby shutting the door on any future possibilities, rather then just say something to the effect, "maybe we should get to know each other better first, away from the cameras."
Seems suspect, if you ask me.
Lincee,
Maybe Brad started reading your blog and has fallen madly in love with your witty self! Here's hoping!
Literally 1 minute after the show ended my sister sends me a text: Let's go to Austin to meet Brad!
I'm thinking there's going to be a line. He's a good guy. This was for his business.
I'm sure ABC loved this twist.
CANNOT WAIT FOR TONIGHT!!!
Crazy Hillary would be hilarious. Although they'd need another intern for all the censoring.
No, no, no, Brad.
Shady as hell, I say. You have to leave the door open for one - keep the dating going. Totally fishy.
Personally, I like the extra junk in DD's trunk. "POW!" that ass says.
Good stuff, Lincee!!
Did anyone else notice that when Brad's mom asked DDAhnnna if she wanted a proposal, ABC TOTALLY edited it? They cut to DD with her hair all on one side of her face saying absolutely, then hard cut to her saying, with her hair completely different, "i'm hoping not expecting it." It was a butcher of an edit and totally misleading.
I think Lincee's read on Brad's intentions is pretty right on. I don't think he's a bad guy, he just wasn't that into the 2 girls. DD at least had some substance.
Anon 11:23, ITA. If he did, in fact, like J. and D. enough to date them, kiss them, and act interested in them, then why end it all just because the show was wrapping up? Remember Charlie? He couldn't decide between Krisily and Sara so he dated them both for a while. So that is an option. But Brad didn't go for it, which leads me to believe he must not have liked either of them very much. But if he didn't like them, why did he "act" as though he did? Was there any "reality" to this show *at all* or was it 100% contrived?
Wow-I so did not see that ending coming last night. Lincee, I agree with you and your view on Brad and his business. So who out of Bachelor couples are together? Trista & Ryan (with new baby Max) and Mary & Byron? Anyone know gossip on them????
"But if he didn't like them, why did he "act" as though he did? Was there any "reality" to this show *at all* or was it 100% contrived?"
Ummm... is this your first time watching the show? The whole intent of the show is to lead these girls on in order to amp up the tears from the desperate women and increase the drama. Andy told Bevin he loved her last year, and then dumped her.
I think if DD had jumped in the pool with the brothers that would have sealed the engagement deal for her. It was a test. She messed it up.
RUMOR HAS IT:
On the late show tonight (or sometime soon), the bachelor is suppose to propose to someone else on TV!!!
I'm posting this again bc, well, yeah. I think it was PR from the start and he doesn't deserve a gentle touch. He was BRUTAL. You can let either or both down with more class and he did lead them on much more than need be even for the crash and burn. Just brutal!
#102 - DOY! says – reply to this
This guy owns a club down the street from my apartment called, The Marq. A friend of mine is a cocktail waitress there. She said he did all this for publicity and has totally been fucking random girls since he came back from shooting the show. That the only reason why ppl do these shows. Nobody finds love…except for Trista and Ryan. And, I’m counting down to their destruction. lol
So bummed out. I can't wait to hear what he says to J & D tonight.
Lincee-Will we see an ATFR recap tomorrow? HOPE SO!!!!
Could they have made the steps at the final rose ceremony any smaller. I was waiting for one of them to fall off and bust their butt.
You are absolutely hilarious!!!! Your "sponsered by Home Depot" comment totally cracked me up....as did your Brad Chad or Chris Harrison name choices for your friend!! :) Thanks for the laughs!
At least he was honest. And I don't feel sorry for the women. They go into this knowing the score. It's a tv show, for crissakes! If they think that they're going to be the one to crack the code and have the genuine fairy tale ending, well, they're deluded. It's a reality show and I don't even think reality has much to do with it.
THANK YOU for mentioning that random apartment DD was in? what WAS that?!
i for one was surprised but it's been fun...i love the suspense today in anticipation for tonight's episode. had he proposed to one of the girls, it would've been the same old ending and we'd have our closure, etc. heck no! how fun is this drama?!! i can't WAIT for tonight. i hope the rumors are true and he does have a little girl with an ex back in austin and he proposes to her and their little family is complete. now that is an ending to tug at your heart strings.
i hope jenni is the next bachelorette and i hope DD figures out what the heck is wrong with her eyes...is it that dry eye thing that the girl from northern exposure advertises on TV? somebody get that girl some drops...the excessive blinking is driving me NUTS!!!
What a waste of a season! I got sucked in from the beginning with the "sexy bachelor ever!" promotion, and now I'm mad. Stupid Brad. I wouldn't be surprised if the truth came out and he really did do it just for the free advertising.
As for other Bachelor couples who are still together... I heard that Tessa and Andy are still dating in Cali. Not sure if that's true, but it's what I heard.
11:43, you crack me up! The blinking was driving me crazy too! I thought Brad was gonna say, "I have to say 'goodbye' to you because there's no way I could live with your blinking tick for the rest of my life, or for the next few weeks until we inevitably, in classic Bachelor style, break up."
I feel like they edited so that it looks like he dumped Jenni b/c he preferred DD but then couldn't commit. Which is crap b/c I saw way more sparks with Jenni. Why couldn't he just keep dating the one he preferred? Was it written in the contract all or nothing? Good for DD for asking him questions. He is still my fav bachelor, In fact, I like him more b/c he didn't fake it or buy into the Hollywood lifestyle. Can't wait for ATR tonight!
p.s. I wish they ended with the girls bitching about him together.
"Ummm... is this your first time watching the show? The whole intent of the show is to lead these girls on in order to amp up the tears from the desperate women and increase the drama. Andy told Bevin he loved her last year, and then dumped her."
Nope, I've almost all of the shows, and I'm not an idiot -- I know a lot of what we see is scripted. And it's clear some of the people who've been on the show were just in it to advance their careers (*cough* Bob Guiney *cough*). But Brad really put on a good act -- I was beginning to believe he cared about J. and D. My point is, if he cared so little for either of them, then why so much lovey-dovey behavior, so many deep, meaningful gazes? If his feelings were that lukewarm, he should have been more reserved. And if he's really as "honest" as he purports, then he should have told the producers, weeks ago, that there wasn't a single woman in the entire lineup that interested him. As far as I'm concerned, he did play with their emotions, and I don't think that's cool. (Unless, of course, J. and D. knew how things were going down and they were "acting" as well. In that case, the show is not just 75% fraudulent, it's 100% fraudulent, and that makes it utterly ridiculous.)
Great recap! "Girth"...option A model floor plan... guillotine... you still crack me up even when we are talking about heartbreak. I'll go with your Brad theories as well!
I kills me to see Brad essentially say, everything I said to you about how I felt and thought you were wonderful was bs, cause now I don't ever want to see you again...
I bet he is thinking, why didn't I have my lawyer address the damn after the final rose show...now I have to face these women again!
It has got to be a huge change after the head rush of attention to be with just one woman, after all!
Wow. What an ingenious way to drum up business for his bars. And he seemed so genuine!!! I was hurt FOR the girls last night. For real. I felt like he pulled one over on all of us.
And I think Deanna handled it with a lot of class. She'll find someone better.
Maybe he will "come out" tonight! Hahahahaha. Brad = gay! Aren't all the hot ones anyway?????
Seriously all hilarious...and thanks for commenting on the insanity blinking from DD. Bless her heart!
So is no one else going to comment on the ABC intern provided pre-furnished apartment that both girls used?? Were they THE same apartment or was it just me??? At least the same decor if anything...come on Intern, spice it up a bit if you're going to make us think they are in 2 separate places.
I have watched this show for two seasons now and it was one more than I should have!
I did it just to read your truly terrific blog! Thanks for the shame!
I think that Brad is a player. I think that I would let him play me. So hot!
I am all for honesty, but don't drag out the "I love You's" if you know you don't feel the same way. I mean seriously, that is where I have a problem with Brad. All the "Tell me how you feel" and "That means so much to me" crap, all crap.
I vote Jenni for next bachlorette.
I feel like Brad did the right thing, and I really don't think he did it as publicity for his business. But something totally did not add up on that show last night. I sure hope he'll explain himself on the ATFR show tonight, but I'm not holding my breath. He's a Scorpio, after all -- and no offense to our beloved Scorpio Lincee, but Scorps loooove to be mysterious and throw everyone for a loop! Which Brad TOTALLY did to all of us. I'd even read all the rumors about how he picks no one, and I was still surprised.
I never felt that Brad was authentic or sincere. Probably due to his wooden voice and facial expressions, but also because he said virtually the same thing to every woman. In contrast, I really felt that both DeAhnna and Jenni put themselves "out there" and were honest about their feelings. Sure, Jenni was a bit melodramatic, but I think she was being totally honest with how difficult it was for her to express that she was falling in love. And that she did it because she allowed herself to trust him. DeAhnna clearly let her guard down too, and explained how much of a risk that was to her. Yeah, it's a TV show, but we know from reading blogs of other contestants that due to the intense nature of the whole experience, emotions get intensified and accelerated too.
I don't care what kind of package you put him in. Brad is a self-centered egomaniac with an ugly self-promoting core. There's no other possible conclusion, particularly when you realize he had options to "see where this goes" or even say he couldn't decide. Hideous behavior.
Go anon 11:50am! My thoughts exactly. An Oscar-worthy performance.. Lincee- a rose brand in the BBQ pit?? I am cracking up at my desk.. thanks once again for the laughs.
Something about (giggle) Jenni is too fake (giggle) for me. I don't (giggle) think I could get through (giggle) another season with her (giggle) as the Bachelorette. Barf (giggle).
Go DD!!! Loved how you fired back at Brad at the end. You deserve better.
Maybe I just don't pay attention, but I don't remember Brad telling anyone he loved them. He said stuff about, "I love everything about you," or "I love being with you," yadda yadda. I wasn't surprised by the ending, and let's face it...this is how EVERY season has ended, it just usually happens about 2 months later.
Still, Brad did all of this for the publicity, just like Jenni and Bettina (she has said business has never been better!).
One note, THANK YOU Lincee for pointing out that Jenni served Brad peas for dinner! I laughed at that too. I love your recaps because you point out the details I notice too.
Why oh WHY would he even BOTHER getting an engagement ring if he couldn't even decide if he wanted to continue to DATE either of them??? I hope ABC kept their Chopard receipt.
My theory is that it was a plan that ABC made from the beginning to make more hype about the show. I think Brad agreed from the very beginning to not pick anyone, but that at the very end he regretted making that decision. They probably told him to buy a ring and then not pick either. Otherwise, why would he buy a ring and then not choose either?
Ok people, I have to comment because I've seen several other people (and Lincee) saying that Jenni served Brad peas for dinner...I'm pretty sure those weren't peas, they were edamame (soybeans) which are commonly served at Sushi restaurants and if you noticed, Brad and Jenni were having Sushi for dinner. Sorry but this was bugging me...
PUH-LEASE. This is more of a "game show" than a "reality show". To play the game, Brad needed to pick someone; even if they break up in a week. To use the show for his own gain makes him a bad guy.
Lincee - I love your insighful blogs! I think Brad is a commitment-phobe and couldn't tolerate his real feelings for DeAnna, and had a panic attack.
You did say in your blog that you believed he had never seen the show prior to this season. Actually, in an early TV interview, he said that he has seen every episode of every Bachelor season, and has been an avid fan from day one. Heck - he probably even reads your blogs! :). All that to say that Brad was in no way naive or innocent in his decision to go on this show. He knew about the editing, the leading the girls on, the ridiculous speed dating, and the ultimate breaking of hearts along the way. He chose this experience very purposefully.
So, he got his 15 minutes, which is what I now think he truly wanted all along.
You're a riot, Lincee, and I'm glad Brad isn't your real life boyfriend. You deserve far better than him. :)
ok someone help me out. didnt he say on various media outlets that he had found his soul mate and that he would be giving out a rose, etc.? i know on the women tell all he just said he was very very happy and happy with how his decision turned out. i really think the not asking deahna was a last minute panick decision.
Thank you for giving us such great commentary! I think I looked forward to reading your comments more than watching the show. What's next?
This whole engagement after 6 weeks on reality tv is so stupid anyway.
BUT If Brad really cared about either, wouldn't he propose... DATING with at least one?
I think they need to have an all star bachelor season with all our favorite bachelorettes from past seasons (crazy ones and all).
Great recap Lincee!!
did anyone notice that Jenni couldn't admit to Mamma Pam that she loved Brad, but without a hesitation she would say yes if he proposed. That seemed a bit out of whack to me. And then there was the pulsing vein in the middle of her forehead. It was just as distracting as DD's blinking or constant tucking of hair.
I thought DD was going to go knock on Couric's door and they were going to stick pins in a HTC Brad doll.
Thank you. That was bugging me too.
Re: The apartment...I noticed that too. The couch and decor were exactly the same but the kitchens were different...then at the end it was the "apartment" they showed DD walking in to somberly not a hotel room. Too strange ABC, don't you think us psychos notice these things??
A great ending would have been:
DD walking sadly down the hall. She stops at the door across the hall from her own and knocks. Jenni answers with snot still crusted around her nose. DD says, "So you wanna get drunk and go bar hopping?" Video of bachelorettes gone wild at the Chunky Monkey bar!
JERK.
My friend and I decided Brad's contract said he had to go through the final rose ceremony and present a ring. He started to and then backed off and said, "I can't go through with this...". Then ABC cut and told him he had to finish. He then marched back up the steps and did it his way. So our take is that he was being true to himself rather than giving a ring to a girl just because ABC said he had to.
I thought it was interesting that DD said she's tired of being the girl who dates the guy before he finds "the one." I totally see that happening with Brad... Besides, who wants to be in such a humorless relationship? I didn't seem him and either girl just having fun and laughing with each other (Jennie's random laughter doesn't count). But perhaps that's another thing ABC edited out. We'll never know!
I agree with 11:56 about the apartments! Jenni had Option A and DD had Option B with the granite counter top upgrade. The same flowers and candles were used in both apartments as well as the same two decorative wall hangings behind the couch. Nice!
I agree~ FANTASTIC Recap Lincee.
In my opinion, watching this season of the bachelor was like watching an episode of LOST!! If the next ABC show isn't featuring a Bachelorette... I'm so done. It seems like the women are the only ones taking it seriously~ Trista loves Ryan. Did they even bother to give Brad a Psych Eval?? If ABC HAD done that, they may have realized that Mom needed to be there from the getgo, not at the tail end of the process!!! THAT would've be a more interesting show anyways ~ power struggles, cutting the strings, games. XOXO

"I think they need to have an all star bachelor season with all our favorite bachelorettes from past seasons (crazy ones and all)."
That's a GREAT idea! I can think of a few I'd love to see back. Let's get some of the biggest drama queens and attention whores -- like Christi from B2, Trish from the Jesse Palmer show, that wild-eyed dog groomer from the Byron Velvick one, the southern belle (can't recall her name) who thought so highly of herself from the Bob Guiney show, Sarah Welch from the Charlie show, and the drunken Swedish girl from "Joe Millionaire 2." Put them together in a house and watch the sparks fly. It won't matter if the bachelor is a toothless, unemployed social misfit -- they'll all battle for the chance for "alone time" with him. I'd be glued to the tube!
Edamame fans unite. They were so not peas. Those wall sconces (circa 1985) in apartment option A were BUTT.
My friend and I decided to start a drinking game for every time DD blinked...we ran out of booze before he made it over to her apartment for lasagna....
Did anyone notice that Jenni and DD had the same metal nature art over thier couches? Did the ABC intern buy them in bulk?
We need a NEW Chris Harrison.
Totally agree!! On a side note....insn't Chuck the best!!! The kiss between he and Sarah last night! Wow! I had to rewind twice!!
I think I am the only one who noticed Jenni Couric's tattoo for the first time!(when she was crying to Brad in her pool cover-up?) Did I miss discussion on that one? Were those smiley faces? Whhhhattttt???
I totally admire Brad for not giving out a ring just to give it out. At least this way we don't have to wait for the Us Weekly cover with "Brad and Deanna spilt!"
You've got to be kidding me! Definately feel robbed. Can't wait to see tonight after the rose though.
I said this on another board, but had to put it here too. Someone else touched on it as well. Give Brad a break. Haven't you ever been in a relationship where when you are with that person your heart flutters and you are crazy attracted to them, but when you go home, something doesn't feel right? Kudos to him for picking up on those feelings inside him and not jumping into a relationship just to break her heart for real a few months down the road. Some of you are saying he seemed cold & you can't believe some of the things he says and in the sequence he says them. The thing is the editing makes it seem that way,but it's not. It makes much more sense that he said goodbye to Deanna first-thus the walking off the podium to get the nerve up-the first time he had to do it. They never show his face with the voice over "I just let Jenni go". I don't think he said that TO Deanna. He said it after he let Jenni go and they spliced it in while he was talking to Deanna. I would think she would have smiled or had a look of relief or something after he said it, and she didn't. He had to walk Deanna out "right now" because the interns/producers were prompting him to walk her out because Jenni's limo was on the way.....see what I mean? It is all in the editing folks.....
I live in Austin, and Brad's 'bars' are typical college Sixth St hangouts~ie, it's all about the alcohol, not atmosphere. So I don't think publicity would exactly translate into big bucks. In Austin, most of the cool classy bars are in the warehouse district a few blocks away.
A friend is a salesman that calls on bars (and other businesses), and he's met Brad and his brothers. He wasn't impressed~I can't really publish what he said! But it wasn't flattering. I think he's a jerk~like he's too good for them? He led those women on~'oh you're good enough to sleep with for one night, but then it's see ya'?
that was totally edamame not peas...I couldn't tell what the other stuff was though so I'm glad you guys said it was sushi.
I think Jenni & DD handled themselves very well.
anon 2:03pm - I wish I had taped it so I could re-watch it from your perspective. Does anyone know if its on ABC? I buy the whole 'he's not a bad guy for not picking one of them because he wasn't in love' - I get that. But why would he go shopping for an engagement ring and be so confident in his decision? If he is such a good guy then why would he go along with ABC forcing him to shop for a ring because its in his contract? If he's so rich then he could probably stand to lose a few bucks to keep his integrity.
it's on abc.com, you can watch it again.
Brad is a tool! He said he had feelings for both of them, so why not choose one and continue dating after the show to see what happens? I understand if he wasn't ready to propose or even day I love you, but dumping both of them was the dumbest thing ever. I loved how DD didn't let him off the hook easily and hopefully he feels guilty for leading her on and then ripping her heart out. What a hole! I was just thinking before last nights episode that he was the nicest bachelor they had ever had....boy did he have me fooled. If he honestly didn't see a future with either one, then why did he say he could see both of them as his wife. What a douche!
I'm with you all who Jenni Couric drove crazy with that laugh...I was relieved when he sent her home because I wouldn't have to hear it anymore...and good for DD...she held it together with some dignity even after he walked off and left her standing at the Home Depot Alter..I felt so sorry for her standing there alone...talk about guts...finally...if you all head to Austin for the road trip...watch out...crazy Hillary is probably already there trying to bleep Brads bleep...can't wait till next season...just for your blog Lincee...you're the best part of the show...
I never thought his "I really want to find a wife" claims sounded sincere. I just feel so bad for those 2 girls.
Did anyone else notice that both J & D acted like they never met Brad's twin before when they got to the house?? We never saw them with him in the "twin episode".
Please, ladies calm down. I just decided that instead of just being able to poke one lady I want to poke many ladies. I did not want to be tied down for two months unable to poke anyone. Besides, it is much more fun to poke random college girls everynight then to poke a smart lady.
By the way...I thought Jenni Couric's tat looked like a pair of Clackers...(a 70's era toy)
Lincee, you rock!!
Absolutely made my day!! (especially after such a disappointing night last night!!)
Keep it up!
Yes, 2:30pm! Something was just a little off about the way he said things.. maybe it was just slow Texan drawl, but you're right, he didn't sound completely sincere when saying he was looking to find a wife. In fact, he sometimes sounded a bit retarded, like Matt Saracen on Friday Night Lights??? :)
Why did he sit at the end and stare at the stupid ring if he didn't even like the girls enough to continue dating them? And why did he encourage them to tell him they love him and his Mother. When finding out someone loves you early in the relationship is the kiss of death?
This entire season was a snooze fest & if it wasn't for Lincee's comments I'd have tuned out weeks ago. Brad was dull as dishwater - there was little to no chemistry w/any of the ladies so it wasn't all that surprising he went home alone. Let's hope the next Bachelor will have a little more ooomph.
Buh bye
I love him even more!! Finally, someone man enough to admit he did NOT fall in love. I think all the previous bachelors are players. They played the girl, theirself AND all of us. They promised forever and it lasted ~two weeks! At least our Brad had the courage to say "I am just not that into you, uh, or you" I say Bravo Brad and thanks for the honestly we have come to expect!
His mom said he had never dated two girls before, if we choose to believe he is a good guy then I think he felt like he could not start a relationship with someone who, for the first six weeks, he had cheated on...with a woman he had serious feelings for to boot! I wish he was smart enough to say that!
For a moment, while he sat on the edge of the home depot stage looking a lost little boy, I had a hallucination where Brad asked Chris Harrison to be his husband!
Okay, I was totally in love with Brad before the last episode too. But I now know also that he is a douche bag. He could easily of exited gracefully by telling Jenni or Dyanna that he was not ready to marry and just wanted to get to know them better first, but no he'd had his piece of ass and wanted to screw numerous girls at his bar without the inconvenience of a pretence of a relationship. He totally led them both on. Totally got them to poor their hearts out and then totally dumped both of them. He's not just a player he is cold as they come.
Dyanna and Jenni you both handled it extremely well! Don't give this Bachelor another thought. He's a narcissistic loser. Unfortunately, you had to date him for forever when really he was only ever good for a one night stand!
Interesting ending . . . however, if Brad wasn't sure about either one, I respect him for not proposing . . . and frankly, he must not have been as crazy about either of them as he let on to say "Goodbye" to both.
He seems like a nice enough guy . . . but, not the brightest crayon in the box. And, I can't help but wonder if he's really all that interested in a wife or trying to find a brood mare to breed with.
When the final scene of him sitting there staring at the Chopard engagement ring, I imagined him wondering what he could sell it for on eBay.
The only reason I watch the bachelor is to see pretty prissy girls get rejected by the hot jock. Now they know how it feels b-snatches.
Jenni should have won...but it with great pleasure that no one got his heart!
Ya'll are entitle to your opinions, but to pick on Jenni's laugh is rediculous. You're jealous that she can face life with such enthusiasm.
BTW, DD came across as a witch. She didn't handle anything with class. She just simply acted as if she couldn't believe that he thought she wasn't good enough.
At least Jenni wished him well. That is class!
I applaud him for not making a commitment he could not keep. However, Brad said ALL the right things to everyone. He even got off the hook with Hillary at the "Women Tell All"- by the end of his complimenting her and telling her she had no idea how highly he thought of her she was blushing and giggling like a little girl! He has a great way of saying just what women need to hear. Of course the women should be smart enough to know it is just a show- but he did say SO many things to both of them that gave them hope- ie. When he first kissed DD- he had never had that feeling before and she has EVERYTHING he is looking for. After hearing that who would expect to hear so . . I have to say goodbye. Whatever. Weird.
Brad reminds me of a guy I used to date. Soooo crazy about you as long as he's chasing you, then once he's got you professing love or something like it he just loses all interest.
When I noticed that he was not going in for the big kissy kill like usual it occured to me that he wasn't going to pick either one.
Okay a couple thoughts:
Won't watch the bachelor again ever! But will watch the Bachelorette.
How many people can fall in love with somebody after three weeks and maybe 3 dates? Come on, lust yes - love no.
But should Brad of led them on and encouraged them to pour out their feelings if he had no intentions of even dating them - no.
Hence the reason why I think Brad now sucks.
All this talk about him doing hotels and more bars shows that he was totally on it for the publicity and the nookie.
His body and face may be hotter than crap, but his personality is just crap!
DD won me over last night when she commented that she was always the last girl a guy dates before he finds "the one" -- wow, did that hit home for me. Initially I was rooting for Jenni, but the constant smiling, giggling and "it's all rosy" attitude got to me; DD was bitchy around the other women (and I think Lincee is right about how crazy she could be) but I think she was sincere in her feelings for Brad.
And yes, that was edamane, not peas, that Jenni served -- standard dish to accompany sushi.
Out here in California we have a company that manages "executive" apartments called Oakwood. If those weren't Oakwood apartments the girls served dinner in, I'll eat my hat!
I dont know if any of you remember, but a cpl episodes ago in this blog I SAID this would happen. I also mentioned the bar business and how hes only on the show to promote his bars. After I went to whichever bars website and it was just covered w/ Bachelor stuff, it was SOOO obvious! I think hes a money grubbing loser. Lincee is right on, as usual!
I think he is going to propose to one of the girls tonight on the "after the final rose" show.
If any of you saw the previews for tonight's show, I think it clearly shows that he does NOT propose to either of them tonight. He is brave to face them tonight...and they are brave to even come to an ATFR show. These are real feelings here. I fell in love in less than six weeks with my husband. We were engaged after 5 months dating and we have been married now for almost 5 years and we are still crazy happy together....it CAN happen.
He has a daughter!
http://www.realitytvspoiler.com/index.php/2007/10/17/the-bachelor-its-rumored-that-brad-womack-has-a-2yr-old-daughter/
OMG, so DISAPPOINTING!! Great recap, BTW, Lincee...And, I think that your friend ought to name her baby boy: "Christopher Harrison"--that way, the kid will grow up and NOT have commitment issues!!
I knew it! I knew that was going to happen, and yes, I was caught in suspense until the final minutes, I'm such a sucker...
Lincee, I love the blog part about the 'last night' where you interjected what you said, hi-larous!
'til next time!!! :) You should really be paid to do this...
I think we should stop mass dating boys like Brad and that Firestone guy who are NOT ready for marriage. The way they salivate on the 1st night should be a sign. It's unrealistic. Let's not blame Brad... in all fairness... he couldn't pass up an opportunity.
What's up CBS!?!
What's up ABC!!?! hahaha
man. . some of ya'll take this show WAY too seriously!! It may be "reality tv", but it's also entertainment! Quit worrying about the ladies; they knew that nothing was guaranteed when they agreed to do the show. They'll probably get more dates now than they did before. Trust me, they'll be fine!!!
As for the possibility (aka certainty) of Brad doing the show for publicity. . .who can blame him? Yes, they have the "college" bars on 6th St. , but they are also planning on getting into the hotel business! That's just creative advertising people. . don't hate!
There are a few reasons as to why I tune into this show each season, none of which is to see two people find true love! I mean really!! 1 reason is to see some eye candy (and this season was indeed, the sexiest yet). 2nd reason is to hopefully catch a cat fight or two. But most importantly, it's for Lincee's blog!! I've been enjoying her wit since the days of her email! She's more of a Bachelor fixture than the Pier One picture bureau!!
I'll leave with these final thoughts. . Why did DD have to be shown walking the Green Mile, and the most annoying thing from last night's episode? Jenni and the "WHOLE WIDE WORLD" she lives in!
Okay before I get started, RANDOM QUESTION FOR LINCEE!! Is your Broadway show actually on strike, I heard on the news where some of the shows are still going on because they are under a different contract. I hope yours is one of those not affected.
Next for all of those who think that Brad was wanting his 15 minutes of fame, uhm... newsflash, DD and Jenni Couric also wanted their same 15 minutes. If you're a bachelorette on this show then you know what's up. As bad I feel for the girls for getting so embarrassed on national TV, that's kind of what they signed up for.
I'm sure the Phoenix Suns aren't sad that Jenni was on there because I'm sure that there are some people out there who will now go to a Suns game just to see her.
I'm not sure why DD would want 15 minutes, but she strikes me as the namedropper type, "You know I was on the Bachelor."
So maybe Brad was in it for his 15 minutes, but let's give the two ladies a pass because they had some motivations as well.
Did anyone notice that it looked like Brad whispered something to Jenni during the time that he was hugging her on the pedestal? Do you think he might have told her, I'm not picking Deanna either?"
i feel bad for both the girls. but go watch the "diary of the departed" on abc.com. i thought it was kind of funny how jenni compared the way she felt that morning to when she was trying out for the dallas cowboy cheerleading squad.
looking forward to tonights show!
'secret bush camera' made me howl! I am glad Brad is available now for Lincee!
I was rooting for Jenni, but did anyone notice her using two hands to work the chopsticks? I'm just saying...
Word on the street is that he is back with his ex-girlfriend. Some friends saw him at the bar the other night and you would have thought he was the ABC mascot, he must of been paid a pretty nice paycheck from them.
Whoever said that DD was broken up with first - I don't think that was the case. You can tell by looking at the girls in the limo. When Jenni left, it was still light out (can see the rear window behind her), and when DD left, it was starting to get dark. Yeah, I agree ABC does major editing, but I do think he broke up with Jenni and then DD.
And, thank you to everyone who noticed the edamame!!
I thought it was weird that when brad twin bother sat down with Sheena on women tells all. How Sheena was smiling and hitting brad bother on the leg. I wonder if brad been seeing Sheena the whole time after they stop taping the bachelor.
Is it just me, or would we love to see Le DD as the next Bachelorette?? THAT would be justice. I hated that they both went through that, and I thought both of them had very natural and honest responses. I loved that DD got mad and gave it to him. I was yelling at the TV when he said the stupid "do you know how much I care about you?" I just wanted to throttle him.
Here's my two cents... for what its worth. It may have been a voice over when he said to DD that he let Jenni go... but she did react, with a little smile and to me, a look like... OMG, I just won.
Second... I thought Brad was really distant this entire episode. I watched it after I knew what happened and after I read much of the comments... and to me he just didn't seem into the entire final process. He HAD to get a ring because its in the contract with Chopard. Its part of the show. I think he was kind of brutal... but I also felt like the things he said off the top to DD were a script, same with Jenni. He finally went off script when he let DD go.
And yes, it was edamame. Jenni went for the sushi option from craft services. But she got the nicer apartment. Kudos to DD for actually cooking dinner and making him a lovely iceberg salad with cucumbers and tomatoes. But she was stuck in a white box.
Still can't wait for tonight... I'm on the West Coast so I got a while!
Well, if Brad the Cad doesn't like the committment idea, the mystery of why he ran from Sheena is solved...
I am a little bewildered - he tried to tip off Hilary as to what was coming. Why not have the same consideration for Jenni and DD???
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20161757,00.html
An interview with the producer of the show- offers some interesting insights. He doesn't sound happy...
Check out the bachelor's season 12!! Love Chris Harrison even more! Can he be the next bachelor?
http://www.realitytvspoiler.com/
My sense is that Brad truly knew he wasn't in love with either girl and that trying to continue a relationship would be a sham. Sure, I don't doubt he was also in it for his 15 minutes and bar promotion, but this is more honest. Saying, "I came here, I gave it a shot, but I can't whore out to ABC and lie and twirl you around like I actually want to be with you" is way worse than choosing no one.
It was obvious to me in several past seasons -- with Bob, Meathead Jesse, Jen in her season -- that the bachelor/bachelorette wasn't really into EITHER of the final two but had to choose because ABC strongarmed them into it. It's better this way, I think, for Brad to just straight up not pick someone.
I remember Jen getting SUCH a hard time when she and whichever guy she picked didn't even keep up their fake relationship until the ATFR show (and I never even liked Jen, btw). People acted like she was terrible and something was wrong with her for not finding love in the 25 guys who passed all of ABC's tests, were attractive in the right ways to get on the show, and who were willing to do such a stupid crazy thing in the first place. Hello? If finding your true love out of only 25 candidates was so easy, match.com wouldn't exist and my girlfriends wouldn't come home sobbing after yet another failed prowl on the town.
In any case, it was cruel he said "I just let Jenni go" to DD. I thought I saw the relief on her face, too ... so maybe he really did say it and it wasn't a voiceover.
I was never a Jenni fan but my heart broke for her when she realized she was being rejected. I got the sense that, as much fun as she and Brad had, Brad was starting to realize she was kind of an airhead (I mean that in the nicest way possible) and that he could never have a real, meaningful future with her that wasn't filled with empty giggles and silly dances.
Other scenario is that he was dating someone else from home the whole time and therefore couldn't/wouldn't pick anyone else from the start. We've all heard of the girls being on the show with boyfriends back home...I wouldn't be shocked if it happened to the bachelor now and then, too.
Does anyone know where I might find a video of the end of the show last night? I just want to watch the ending one more time! I looked on You Tube but couldn't find it.
I had a feeling something like this would happen, I really don't think he had any chemistry with any of them at all. I think the Bachelor will fizzle out now b/c of this ending. I didn't think picking nobody was an option. I'm ready for a Bachlorette again!

5:30 PM
I had to play it twice but he whispered 'I love you'.
Yes, the interview with the producer was very interesting. I couldn't pull up the site recommended by Anon 7:33. Try this.
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20161757,00.html
Ok, I finally just watched it. Now, I am all for being honest, etc. etc. If he didn't want to propose he shouldn't. But I really think he led these girls on, and encouraged them to spill their guts-- and then he doesn't even indicate that he wants to continue dating either one?
It's hard to put a positive spin on that. If you watch it knowing what the outcome is (like I did) it's hard to have many charitable thoughts for Brad
Did you notice that after Brad tells Jenni that he's saying goodbye, she does a little wiggle!?
She NEVER stops dancing!! And I LOVE that about that girl!!
If you ck out that interview with the producer, he says there is no surprise proposal tonight - Brad basically said F it, can't see myself with either of these women. Tried, but couldn't. He also said there's another Bach. in the spring, and a Bachelorette in the summer. When asked if it was Jenni or DD, said, "uh, we don't know yet." Kinda bummed, this isn't fun anymore
I do have to say...
ABC if you are going to spring for a fake apartment for the last date at least use different furniture and wall stuff, come on! It looked like they just moved all the same stuff, candles, orchids, couch, wall decor into a different empty apartment!
I don't think he said I just let Jenni go. He probably said something that ABC did not want in there. Like I'm getting back together with my ex!
I am a douche. I poked all those girls on the over night dates. A few several times. That is why I could not commit, they were not good pokers themselves. So now I am just poking a bunch of college chicks. Did I say I was a douche?
2:43 pm -Exactly! The way he said things, it was just off somehow....
And I have to say, check out the look on our host's face when he's leading Jenni up to Brad. He knows what's gonna happen and he looks like he feels badly for her. And I swear he gives Brad a "you jerk" look as he's waking DD down the steps. (ok, maybe it's all in my imagination because it's what I would do. I also really wanted to see one of those girls slap Brad!)
; )
Brad is not a good poke.
I think Brad was going to propose and then freaked out. Like he got stressed about the whole thing and then said screw it.
I do believe the process is screwed. That does not mean he should have handled it that way. He handled the girls about as much as Andy from last season, he just didn't say the L word.
My favorite part of any season is getting to the chick who cusses in the limo. Nice F-bomb DD! Reeeeeeal classy!
But nothing tops Amber from last season.
I don't think Brad the Cad is brave for doing the after show, I think he is contractually obligated! There is no freakin way he'd show up there if he did not have to.
What I hated was that he ripped DD's heart out in such a final way, I have to say goodbye...and then complained that she cut him out. If someone cut me like that - I don't think I would be able to speak. I would just have to head out fast to avoid embarassing myself.
So Mary Mary said that she and Centrum Silver are getting married in November...uh, its November now. When was this taped? Its with an audience and Chris keeps saying "last night," but we saw specific previews of tonight, didn't we? Am I just really confused here?
OK, two things- first of all, that article said that there will be a spring edition of the Bachelor and a summer edition of the Bachelorette!
Second, I am watching the show live, and this is now the second live show that the street smarts guy is in the audience. Does anyone else think this is strange???? (You know, that cheezy yet hilarious game show about people who don't have street smarts- the host)
gee, jenni comes across really well tonight. classy and tactful. and i didn't care for her much before
Jenni needs to be the next Bachelorette...Can we start a petition?
I noticed the Street Smarts guy too!!
ok, who is just feeling so awful about Jenni's Grandma?!? That is so awful for all of us jerks that were making fun of her crankiness!
Goooooooooooo Jenni!! That girl is awesome.
Brad is no Almonzo Wilder, that's for sure!
YEAH 9:25pm= (I am the orginal poster about the Street Smarts guy) you just made my day- he was on the women tell all AND tonight, and I thought everyone would think I was crazy!
Why did everyone gasp when DD said it felt like someone had stabbed her in the heart? No one actually stabbed her in the heart, folks. LOL
Anon 9:27, Anon 9:25 here - nope, you are not alone in your terrible TV viewing choices! The Bachelor and Street Smarts. My CNN-obsessed boyfriend hates it....ha! Please tell me you love Judge Judy too! lol
well, deanna comes across really well too. they are both way more controlled than I would be under these circumstances. what can he possibly say to them???? what a fart
Pathetic as I am, I just watched the ending again of the final episode. I think ABC edited out, I have something for you...he was going to propose. Then he chickened out and walked around!
OMG - loved the Natural Snack commercial!!!!!! hahahahahha
This guy played the women and the network...what a jerk. He was more deceitful than all the other seasons contestants combined. He kept saying he was there to "find love", this (uneducated, opps he is being judged)nerd was looking for some makeout sessions he couldn't get hanging around his own bars.
I love (sarcasm) how Chris Harrison is digging into how DD would react if Cad asked her back. She was just talking about how much hope she still had. Why are you giving her more hope Chris??? It ain't gonna happen sister!
ha. brad reads the blog. says he's heard the rumors about having a child, being gay, etc. You KNOW he's read it all!
He keeps on saying I will look you in the eye and tell you.............. Hey Dickstein, a man is measured by what he does not what he will say. You are all hot air, no substance!
Damn I love Chris Harrison - lay into him brother!!!!!
Jenni is amazing! WOW, she has blown me away tonight, and completely changed my outlook on her!
WTF??? "I'll miss you more than you'll ever know" ????? why say that? why confuse her more? it just wasn't there, so don't say that. Geez
what the ?????????????????????????
I thought I was sad/mad last night-how could he make it worse!?! I think that I am most upset because I feel DD's frustration. I think he is saying that he believes that she deserves a man that does not need time to decide, but it is NOT LIKE SHE WILL MEET JOE BLOW ON THE STREET AND FALL IN LOVE INSTANTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hoping you have a recap for this one Lincee!!
OMG, DD stop being pathetic!! I'm screaming at my TV for her to just stop! Really...yikes. Let him go, how many times does he need to say it!!!
DD was great. That was most awkward television I've ever sat through! Did anyone else think the audience was full of unusual looking people? I'm just saying....
No kidding, there were certainly "unusual"-looking people in that audience!! What's up with Rapunzel at the end asking if Brad was still single!
ummmm, did anyone else think the last girl wondering if Brad was single came STRAIGHT from Who-ville? (The Grinch)? skeery
Lincee- we need a recap, lady. Help us process this!
Vita - OMG. hysterical. Yes.
um, forget everything i said yesterday supporting brad - he really came off poorly tonight.
Why couldn't he just admit that he didn't feel it for deanna, and that it was too forced?
I really wonder if he would have chosen jenni if deanna hadn't confused him by impressing him so much near the end, showing so many qualities that jenni didn't possess. He ended up wanting the perfect combination of both of them, and then just couldn't choose either.
Both girls came across much better tonight than on the show.
Good job, Brad! That took more guts than 95% of singles have - ending relationships when they don't have long-term potential. I think Brad may be missing something in his life that he may be trying to find in relationships. Brad, if you're reading this, Jesus Christ is the key. I truly think Brad's a great guy and I wish for him the perfect woman - she's worth the wait! I thought he did a great job sticking to his guns on the show tonight as well!
Seriously, the best freggin' moment in Bachelor history came in that last second of this show....when Rapunzel/Cindy Lou Who made that little chipmunk face. What the hell??
Well folks, I think Brad made it clear tonight that he is a complete jerk! One question Brad: Exactly what did you not see in Jenni?
I've been Jenni's fan since the first episode, and really have disliked DeAnna all along; however, I even felt bad for her tonight.
Women, beware of that boy!
I think he is committment phobic! He practically told her he was going to give her a rose, he had them fly her dad out. Then not only does he not propose, he doesn't want to date her at all???
Chad got the monogamous gene and Brad the Cad did not!
anon 9:45, i totally agree. so loving chris harrison tonight!
Here's a thought:
We should all let this die now. We are dragging out pain that doesn't belong to us. DeAnna and Jenni are not helped by any of our banter. By rehashing this over and over, we are giving more attention to that attention-whore of a man.
RIP Bachelor Brad...you have officially lost your hotter than crap/sexiest bachelor ever status.
The really sad thing about women is this: We LOVE the bad boy! This experience will not be a turn-off for most Womack suitors. Brad will be a CHALLENGE to all those women that think THEY will be the one to 'tame' him.
@ anon 8:51 ~ they were put up on the Oakwood apts in Hollywood, which is corporate housing. Sadly, all the apts are furnished the same way
I have respect for Brad Womack. He was being honest with him self. Jenni and Deanna should have left it alone and gave him his space. Brad is only 34 and that is young to make a big commitment, vows are not to be taken lightly. I think Brad is smart to take his time and to regroup. I honestly do not believe in falling in love with a person after a few weeks or months. I think it takes longer then that I myself would perfer to get to know the person good behaviors as well as the negative behaviors. If Brad cannot tell two woman that he is not in love with them so be it move on. He is wise and I think he knows what is best for himself. I wish him the best keep being honest with your self.
Yes Jenni for the next bachelorette she has a great sense of humour. I don't think Deanna does.
The only women going after Brad now are going to be ones who just want him for one night, or women who love to be rejected.
Anon 9:44 you cracked me up on the "hey dickstein"
10:09 also, you are killing me.
Everyone's making me feel better tonight with the crazy audience banter. Last night I was a ragin' machine but tonight. I'm just relieved that people finally agree. He had us all. But ultimately he's just a guy who can't tell it like it is. Even at the end tonight he was still giving D mixed signals. Why didn't he just say yes I like alot of your qualities but not enough to marry you ever.
Did anyone else think his eyes were real cold tonight. They never showed any feelings. Strange.
Wow, after watching this, I can say that I love the host!!
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this...but let's remember Brad's story. Dad left his family when they were very young. I've got news for you guys - that is TOUGH on a little one. As a single mom, I can already see things in my 10 yo boy that tells me he will either marry the first girl who tells him she loves him...or he'll wait until he's 40. No boy who loves his momma wants to EVER have another woman go through raising a family on her own. He said he has uncovered some issues...I hope he resolves them.
OK...it is now starting to click more for me. I have two very dichotomous perspectives.
Have we seen him show really any emotion that wasn't contrived this whole season? I think that he seems to make himself feel his feelings. All his words seemed rehearsed, and scripted. He seems to have an scary resemblance to Scott Peterson and both DeAnna and Jenni seem to have a scary resemblance to Lacey. Scott is a psychopath...someone who is incapable of creating, maintaining, and holding loyalty to any human relationships starting with his mother...remember the checkered past sad story at the beginning. He kept doing the "I'll look you in the eyes and tell you..." routine (scripted).
OK, here is my second perspective. His idea of what love is is an unrealistic, unachievable, never-never land definition. He expects some kind of BOOM and some kind of "butterflies" I think he called it. Seriously, Brad, what more do you want? The love he seems to be looking for is the kind that is only found in the movies like "Jerry Maguire." Brad is a product of Hollywood...fake candles, fake night rendezvous, fake dates, fake love. No wonder he doesn't feel love. He has been living on a movie set. Maybe he is actually a normal guy who was like, "uhh, hello America...this isn't dating and what I feel isn't love and oh, this isn't real."
I know...two totally contradictory viewpoints, but both mine, nonetheless.
Well well well!
what to say or where to start! For the fist time since the bachelor start I've dicided to watch every single episode this year... and again I got shock and disapointed. Even on TV I got mislead. about six mounth ago I gave up on love and by watching this show, it's just confirm my fears and weariness about relationships. I don't get it... He got 25 girls around him, he got to touch them kiss them and even more the only thing he has to do was to pick one. I don't think you need a bachelor degree to do so... What is wrong whith him. Unfortunately, he is not the only one in that situation and those 2 girls are not either. It is just a reality now. The way he acted makes me thinks that he was there for his 5 min of fame. Ok he was fair enough to tell the "truth" about he's feeling, but come on... not on national TV! Anyways I hope that the girls wont do like me and keep the door of love open!
P.S.: sorry for my english (I am french so I don't write that much in english... hope you got my point)
Give me a break, people! We all know ABC doesn't provide the atmosphere for honesty here. So, if he realized two episodes ago that he wasn't falling in love could he have said that? Would ABC allow it? PRESSURE! Talk about ruining the show. I feel bad for Brad (and I'm a girl!) It just wasn't there but I think he wanted it to be and was trying to make it happen. It would have been more unfair to continue to fake it.
Um, am I the only person who just looked up the word "dichotomous"? Seriously, we are blogging on The Bachelor, come down a notch! :)
Brad is definitely in love with someone...himself. No woman should have to live with someone like that, and most don't for very long.
10:19 what planet are you on? Maybe you should be Brad's next victim and let's see how you feel.
Yes....sociopath!! I can't believe I didn't think of that before,Anon 10:28!
Here's my take from a male's prospective: Even though DD may have as Brad has said "all of the qualities he is looking for in a women", maybe one point is that he is not physically attractive to her. That is why he could not give her a straight answer.I think he is rather self centered and shallow.Comments??
Well she did have quite the padonkadonk...
I'm the original 10:28 Anon..
Dichotomous (two very different contradictory statements or beliefs).
And correction...sociopath rather than psychopath. And I kept referring to him as Scott. I think his childhood is just like Scott's. There is a great book about Scott Peterson that talks about how he was a product of his mother's craziness. Brad's mom also reminded me of Scott Peterson's mom (and my own Mother in Law). :)
Come on ladies,
Haven't we all had that great guy in our lives....like our BEST friend guy that was just great, everyone told you how great he was, maybe you even knew he was in love with you....but you just. didn't. feel. it. for. him.
You can have a great person standing in front of you, heck...you could have 25, it could be so easy to be with that person, but you just don't feel "that way" about him/her. It's CHEMISTRY! You just know it. You can't hold it against someone if it's just not there. You should commend them for being honest.
i'm sure it's already been said, but I CANT believe that brad had DD's DAD flown out! So even at the very least, if he thought of continuing things with her... why not just that, just keep seeing her, but don't fly her dad out! crazy.
I think as we all watch these break-ups, we regress back to the awkward pimple-faced girls experiencing our first heart-break all over again. We hate that guy, don't take it out on Brad for being honest and not caving and being fake about his feelings - or lack thereof.
Holy CRAP they should have put a warning that **all viewers should take some pepto bismol before viewing this episode**
Actually, I do understand that even though both ladies are excellent choices, they still weren't right for *him*. You can't always qualify 'love'. It is far too complicated.
I can say that the guy I dated before my current fiancee was perfect on all accounts: hot, funny, smart, sweet, treated me fantastically, and was a true southern gentleman. But... he wasn't the one. I can't explain even now exactly why. So I get that part.
HOWEVER
Womack should have stopped while he was ahead. He asked way too many leading questions & said too many leading things (I am sure due to the pressures of the production crew) and definitely said some things that he should have kept to himself unless he was sure.
Actually, I believed him and felt some empathy (not as much as for the girls, but some) UNTIL the last moment when he was hugging DDaahnna and said 'I'll miss you more than you know' at which point I wanted to punch him in the nose.
It's the band-aid theory. It's better to just rip it all off in one fell swoop- not peel it slowly so it hurts more. Tell her goodbye, and then GO. Don't try to make it easier by being sweet, because that makes it way, way worse.
Anyhoo, Lincee, thanks again for a fantastic season. You rule. :-)
I REALLY LIKED BRAD UNTIL TONIGHT. NOW I THINK NOT. HE SEEMED ARROGANT AND SELF INDULGENT AND DIFFERENT THAN THE PREVIOUS TIMES ON THE SHOW. I AM SAD THAT HE DREW US ALL IN AND THEN TURNED OUT TO BE KIND OF A SLEEZE.
SO SORRY BRAD BUT EVEN THO I DIDN'T LIKE JENNI AT ALL AND LIKE DD A LITTLE, NOW I LIKE THEM BOTH AND THINK U ARE A CAD.
I cannot believe somebody compared Brad to Scott Peterson. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!!??????"
That is HORRIBLE. Wow.
You need to appreciate his honesty. Leave him alone - seriously.
And it is just WRONG to compare someone to a wife/baby murderer when they have done nothing to lead you to believe that...and really...you just don't talk about somebody's Mama like that.
You should be ashamed.
I am thinking that Brad is in love with the twins wife.
I dont have any inside info, I just read a lot of romance.
Lincee unless you are a user and abuser you stay clear of Brad. He needs someone to treat him like dirt.
I lost all respect for Brad tonight. All respect.
Lincee deserves way better than Brad. By the way he is NOT hotter than crap brad. My husband was like "you think HE'S hot?" and I said "no all the girls on lincee's blog do". Last night I thought Chad was hotter than Brad for sure.
But seriously folks: no need to compare Brad to Scott Peterson. Are you kidding me? What on earth are you thinking??
this guy has some serious issues to deal with. as someone who has found the love of my life i can say from experience that love comes to you at different times. one person in the relationship might fall before the other. it happens! this guy has some dilusion that love is easy and just happens with no effort. sounds good, but that's just not the case. i'm not saying that he should have faked it, but i'm saying if he truely valued these women and/or his own feelings, then he would have chosen to stay with one of them. in my opinion, he was scared away by the fact that those girls were in love with him. he might think that's what he wants...but that's obviously not the case. he's just another typical single guy. good luck brad. you're gonna need it! poor jenny. *sniff*
I could've sworn that he did an interview on some show before the final episode aired where he said he'd found "the one" and that he was very happy! Does anyone else remember this?....Hmmm, I smell a rat...or a glitch in the ABC "reality show" facade.
Way to go girls!!! Turn those screws!
Squirm Brad Squirm!!!
And Chris Harrison your timing is impeccable and your sharp tongue a pleasure!
Loved that it was Bradleys turn to face the music.
Face it no one WANTS a fake relationshp-but no excuse for the way he handled the situation.
He is a CAD and admittedly has serious issues to work through.
You are better off without him girls! Thank you for handling yourselves so well.
1. girls quickly falling in love, planning weddings and naming kids.
2. a boy that's afraid of commitment.
so, what's so new and dramatic about this? i've seen it all a million times before.
dramatic would have been if brad gave a rose to chris harrison.
good blog, lincee!!!
*ruthie
I could tell that something was fishy about Brad's comments and behavior from the beginning. He was totally stone-faced and low key when he interviewed for trailers about the shows ending and whether he found "love" or not. Some of the rumor mills on the internet say he has been communicating with an ex since he started taping the show. I believe he is going to reconnect with an ex. That said, it really makes him a jerk for stringing the girls along...if he knew he was going to pick no one...then he should have played it more cool as he faked his way through to the end. I do believe the reason Brad did the show was to send the bar business over the top...according to the internet it worked. Those bars are packed!!! Sorry Lincee, I think Brad is a jerk! But I LOVE your recaps...no doubt they make the ride through a bachelor season hysterical. Have a good Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Take good care...and watch out for those ADORABLE southern boys!
Jenni has moved on. DD needs to move on. And Brad needs to move to Mars where they speak his language. But that would mean he is "gay"? On second thought, wouldn't he be great as a guest STAR on Big Love?
