The Bachelor Recaps: That's All She Wrote

That's All She Wrote

You guys are too sweet. Thanks for worrying about me. Lots of family/friend issues that popped up THE NIGHT I posted my Oklahoma blog. It's all under control now. But I do feel there is no good reason to post an After the Rose recap. I typically never do an after the rose because they are lame. Not to mention that it was so long ago.

There's only so much I can say about how cute Trista is pregnant and how hot Ryan still is. We can sit around and debate exactly how long is TOO LONG to be engaged and then discuss intervention techniques to use on Mary Mary and the fisherman. I could say that I held my breath every time Psycho Stephanie moved, hoping that the ladies wouldn't pop out to say hello. I could spend a good paragraph on how cute Chris Harrison is and how adorable he was holding his note cards with Lieutenant Andy Baldwin on the back. Or how he made Bevin almost cry asking her "Don't you wonder what was wrong with YOU" when she sported her jailhouse dress and pink cast with diamonds. Or how he told Andy, "I can't believe you picked the girl with the muffin joke!" Classic Bachelor is what I would say. We could compare notes on the times that I got mad at the good doctor for, I don't know, grabbing Bev's knee--twice--and telling her that she will always hold a piece of his heart. I would ask you if you saw the chick crying in the studio audience and wonder aloud if she was related to the American Idol chick crying in their studio audience.

But there is no time for that. So I've decided to end the Bachelor season with a list of things I'm going to do until we meet again this fall. Prepare yourself for a complete smorgasbord of random nothingness. This is the true beauty that is Lincee. I present it to you now!

Pirates of the Caribbean 3: I've seen it. I love Captain Jack and the monkey. The movie? About an hour and a half too long. On the bright side...Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom for almost three hours. Hmmm. Tricky. Very tricky.

Saw SpiderMan 3. I'm sorry if you are a Tobey fan, but he can't pull off the scary black Spidey suit. I'm just saying.

So You Think You Can Dance: Favorite summer TV show.

Order of Phoenix: You know you think Harry Potter is cute too. Let's form a support group.

Hand & Foot Extravaganza: THE best card game in the world.

What Goes Around: Determined to get the catchy Justin Timberlake song OUT of my head.

Going to read three books by the time we meet again. Of course, the final Harry Potter will be one for sure. I'll be the dork with all the other 12-year-olds at Barnes and Noble around midnight to pick up my copy. "Calm My Anxious Heart" for Bible study. And one chick lit novel that I've been told is pretty good..."Time Travler's Wife."

Mimi turns 92! I wish you were all lucky enough to know my crazy grandmother.

10 pounds: The amount of weight I will lose before the baby shower I'm attending for a high school friend. Going to see six girls that I haven't seen in about three years. Luckily, most of them will be big and pregnant and I can look fabulous and single from the big city! And then I'll cry in my glass plate of dainty fruits, crackers and pink sugary dinner mints. Fun times!

www.ihategreenbeans.com: Launch of my new blogsite...coming soon!

Thanks for the well wishes truely. It's been a crazy week and I thank you for your concern. Until we meet this fall...make sure to check the other blogsite for my random nothingness!

All about the shame, not the fame,
Lincee

What is Hand and Foot Extravaganza? Is it really a game? Is it like Twister?

Do tell!

Anonymous said...

Glad you are alright Lincee! Can't wait to see what "i hate green beans" has in store for us. Looking forward to more recaps in the fall! Enjoy your summer!

ps. I also am curious as to what Hand and Foot Extravaganza is???

Anonymous said...

You definitely make the show worth watching. Can't wait! Have a nice summer!

Glad to know you're ok, and I can't wait for I hate green beans to take off!

I've looked forward to your recaps every Tuesday, and I hope that you blog as well about reality as you do about reality TV.

Best wishes, fellow Texan, and thanks for all the entertainment you provide....

Lincee,

Calm my anxious heart! My Mum gave me that book 6 months ago, now you've guilted me into reading it.

Good luck on the 10 pounds. Two favourite treats when I'm trying to lose weight. Icea/sun tea, (use green tea), and sweeten with honey. Totally curbs your appetite. Also, love love love Dagoba dark chocolate roseberry flavour. Soooo good. Whole Foods and Market Street carry it. I treat myself to two cubes like every other day. (full of antioxidants - guilt free really).

A fabulous Summer to all. Looking forward to the new website.

Chant with me now...Harry! Harry! Harry! Sure, he's cute, but seeing him like this still weirds me out. I'm not ready for "shirtless Harry".(sorry I had to delete a few times! I was trying to embed the photo)

Son of a B. I give up. It was a photo of Daniel Radcliffe with his white horse from the play he was in. Haha.

Well, I'm in for the book club!!!! I'll read Time Traveler's Wife and Calm My Anxious Heart. My 28 year old daughter will read the Harry Potter. You see I've only read the first one - sorry.
Looking forward to the I Hate Green Beans website.

We will miss you Lincee! Good luck with your summer endeavors. Strangely enough within the past 2 months I've met about 6 of your faithful readers (1 through work & a group of 5 girls talking about Andy the Caveman/Keanu at a friend's house) who knew who I was - it is a small, small world after all. I speak for us all when I say we look forward to your new blog!

Everyone else: Have a fantastic summer! And if you see a 6'3" guy around in Dallas, don't forget to ask him if he's "Straight Guy #1", because he just might be...

Anonymous said...

Me again. From the previous post. Sorry that you now realize that one of your groupies has a 28-year-old daughter! Don't block me from your list! Please!

I've been looking for a fellow hand and foot fan! We should start a league in Houston! My best friend from home is moving to Houston too--another fan. That makes 3, so if we can find at least one more, we've got a game.

Anonymous said...

Lincee, so glad you recapped with sass and wit about various stuff. I know it's totally wacko and trust me very non-stalkerish, but I feel like you're a good friend. Good luck with the 10 pounds and don't forget your tiara when you attend the shower. Trust me, you ARE the princess! You could also make some Lava Lamp or Vesper martinis....pure bliss! Meow!!!

Anonymous said...

I'm glad to see that there is another Hand and Foot junkie living in the state of Texas! Our family has gone so far as to modify the rules for the number of people who are playing..... anywhere from two on up. Enjoy your summer Lincee and thanks for bring us all of the giggles. See you at the beans blog...

Anonymous said...

Lincee, so glad to hear you are well and still hatin' green beans! Can't wait to read the new blog! And, exactly why do you hate green beans?! Is it the little stringy things that show up on the random bean?

I'll be rereading Order of the Phoenix this summer...preparing for the last and final Harry book. I'm so sad. And, I'm older than you so don't feel bad about being a Potter fan...I'll be there at B&N with the 12 year olds as well. But, I'm dragging hubby and kids with me. My poor children, they will be sleepy, and are way too young to enjoy Harry's world right now. *Sigh*

Megan, I have seen that picture--a tad creepy to see our Harry all grown up looking!

Happy Summer to all! Peace, love, & happiness, etc, etc, yadda, yadda! :) Jenn

I'm so glad all is well with you and your friends/family! Your last post of the season was fantastic! It's exactly why we all love you so much and feel like you're one of our best friends! I can't wait for the launch of "i hate green beans"! Until then, I will be researching what exactly hand and foot extravaganza is....sounds very interesting

Time Traveler's Wife was an awesome book...body wracking sobs (mine)and all. And it may well help viewers with where Lost may be going next year between past, present, future.
Anywhoo, I have been with you since the email days and now I can look forward to your new blog.
As someone who is now a mother of two, but did not get married until after most of my friends - Lincee, hang in there girl. The "trite" and true of it is- the grass is always greener. Picture your friends in the inevitable maternity underwear (3 mos after giving birth!)And know that moms-to-be and moms-already ENVY your single-girl status. (everything is STILL possible!!)Really and truly, when you were in Randomville, Texarklahoma last week - I envied your ability to return home from that probably fairly crummy trip to a sense of quiet - and a pitcher of margaritas if you want. I am considering starting a reverse-spa, where single people can come to live in my world for a few days - just think how much more they would appreciate their own situations. This could be a very valuable service!

Anonymous said...

Two things:

Time Traveler's Wife - GREATEST book I've read in the last few years. I've already read it 3 times, and it's not short.

Mary and what's his name: apparently if you get married within 2 years of the show, ABC get all press rights and can tape and broadcast your wedding. But it's been longer than that, right?

Anonymous said...

Lincee, Amy and Amy's-other-friend-who-also-loves-handandfoot, I think the three of you should come up to Ontario and we could have the best hand and foot tourney ever. And BONUS, I hear texan summers get pretty hot, and it's beautiful here...so I really think you guys should seriously consider, I'm just saying...

Lincee...thanks for another season of great posts and for entertaining all us. The escape you provided from our daily lives, and the community created among commenters was alot of fun. Blessings!!

Have a great summer all!

I love your blog and will miss you till fall. I would advise that you find another book however. I couldn't get into the TTW. Read it for a book club. I believe the term was brain-skip. To much re-reading to figure out where you were in time. HMMM? Would love to hear more about this Hand and Foot Extravaganza though! Be Well Lincee.

Anonymous said...

Hand and Foot is truly and awesome game.
I read Calm My Anxious Heart for a Bible study not long ago and it is a wonderful book, really eye-opening.
Glad to know there are other "adults" out there who are as wrapped up in Harry Potter as I am.
Pirates of the Caribbean 3: Orlando Bloom was hot to begin with.... but I think that scar took him to a whole new level of hottness!!!!

Anonymous said...

Okay...I come from a family of gamers and it is always the best to come with a new game. So, can someone please direct us to a site where we can learn about Hand & Foot?

Have a great summer everyone, I am so curious to see if Andy & Tessa make it more than 6 months!

Anonymous said...

Alrighty, I found this link to help us non-hand and footers understand the game

I'm guessing this is the right game??

Until I read this site I thought the game involved your real hands and feet! :)

The Time Traveler's Wife IS a good book. Would also suggest Special Topics in Calamity Physics and Shantaram....

Lincee, Age of Love starts on NBC June 18. It's our bachelor for the summer! A 30 year old guy has to choose a woman from a pool of 20 and 40 year olds, proving whether or not age really matters. Come on, it's just BEGGING for your wise insight!

Anonymous said...

Lincee,

Did not enjoy Time Traveler's Wife, sorry to say. But loved, loved, loved The Glass Castle. Read it if you can.

So excited about the new blog. You go, girl.

And do tell about the card game. Sounds fun.

still am, # 1 fan

Anonymous said...

Hate to be redundant but 1) so glad you are well Lincee; 2) thanks so much for the laughs this season; 3) really enjoy the comments from you all, a community of reality tv fans with somewhat skewed humor, insight, and great wit; and 4)will look forward to your new blog, Lincee! Enjoy the summer, everyone! Also, ck out the Memory Keepers Daughter, loved it.

Anonymous said...

FYI to readers out there... do NOT read Time Travelers Wife if you are pregnant or desiring to be so. Please be warned! Great book, WAY too much for anyone preggo or wishing as much. Trust me, I know.

As for the rest, I may have to check out the Bible study book. Great blogging as usual Lincee. Been with you since the email days, and looking forward to more blogging days!!!

I feel like school is out for summer. :(
LOVE Time Traveler's Wife! Soooo good. I had to push through the first 50 pages, but then I loved it.
Calm my Anxious Heart is the best Bible study I have ever done. It will change your life.
Have a great Summer!!!

Lincee said...

I love it when the Straight Guys and Tony show up on this thing. I am SO going to approach every 6'3" guy in Dallas.

FYI Tony: Hermy is like 12 or something. Harry is at least almost 18. Who's the sicko now?! :)

Hand & Foot is a card game that can't be explained through the world wide web. You must have at least three other people gathered and some sort of fun funky music playing in the background while swirling your wine-erita. (My Mom's newest invention. Oh..she's good.) And if you are a TRUE fan, you will have themed Hand & Foot nights and affectionately call them Hand & Foot Extravaganza 2007!

You guys rock.

Anonymous said...

Lincee - thanks for another great season. I will miss your blogs and my "girls bachelor night out" every Monday. I won't miss the Bachelor, however. Blah!!! By the end, I didn't care about Andy or any of the girls. But I digress...

My hubby and I played a very long hand & foot tourney with our best friends - girls vs. the guys. Good times! Although I think divorce did get brought up once or twice! LOL. Thanks for dislodging those great memories. I might have to get another tourney started soon! We need something to do on Monday nights this summer!!

Anonymous said...

I feel like school is out for the summer too :(

Can't we just keep posting on here all summer? ;)

I love reading Lincee's posts and everyone's comments to them too - they make me laugh almost as much as Lincee - but not quite ;) Its fun to log on over my lunch hour and read all the comments.

BTW caught the first episode of the Real World LV Reunion last night -question for y'all - did the whole Alton/Arissa kissing incident (who came on to who?) happen on camera or off? Arissa had some crazy eyes in that episode...

'Time Traveler's Wife' - great book, quick read. Don't call it chick-lit, it is better than that.

The shock on hot tennis guy’s face when all the 40 year olds started traipsing out was almost too much to bear. Clearly he had no idea there would be older women to choose from and from the looks of it wasn’t excited at the prospect. The producer kept replaying hot tennis guy saying he was expecting to see a group of “good looking twenty year olds” or something like that...I almost felt bad for him but then remembered the last girl he dated was 20 years old!! (10 years younger than him) Plus he makes a butt-load of money.

The 40somethings were all mostly good looking and successful. Hopefully he picks one of them but who knows.

I cannot wait for next week when the 20somethings are introduced to the 40somethings...claws are going to fly.

Anonymous said...

Lincee, where are you?????????????
I'm going through withdrawl!!!

Anonymous said...

Did anyone notice that some of the 20 year olds looked much older then they claim to be? It is amazing how the youth try to look so much older now a days and end up staying looking older throughout life. I am only 36 and I certainally did not look my age when I was in my 20's. Even today people say I look younger than I am. There is something to be said about not being raised in the tanning bed era.

Lincee said...

Thanks for checking back guys! It's been a busy month for me with work. But I'm working on the new blog. Maybe I'll work on it this weekend!

Not watching that 40 vs. 20 Bachelor knock-off show. One reality at a time for me. And I'm happy to say that my choice is SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and my answer is OH YES I CAN AND DO!

By the way...the new blogspot is iHATEgreenbeans.com. I despise them.

I hate green beans too!

Anonymous said...

I want to hear your thoughts about the great new show "Age of Love". The First two episodes rival that of the best Bachelor!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I watched 2 hours of Age of Love last night and all I can say is wanna-be Bachelor. And while I find Mark Consuelos rather attractive, he's got nothing on Chris Harrison.

The 40 year olds acted WAY too desperate, it was sad.

The show was lame, except for seeing the bachelor's face when the 40 year olds were giving their ages, classic! He doesn't have a poker face to save his life.

And of course we can't forget big boobs mcgee, I can't remember her name, all I can remember is that she weighed about 100 pounds and her boobs made up at least 20 pounds. At least she won't have to worry about drowning in the pool as she has built-in flotation devices...yuck!

All in all, I was disappointed.

Anonymous said...
