The Final Rose

The Final Rose

Let’s face it. Were we really surprised that he picked Nashville? Let the record show that I never wavered. I did not get sucked in to the magic of ABC editing and believe that he was going to pick Mowana. Therefore, I must rule all.

SIMPLE DISCLAIMER

The following information you are about to read is of personal opinion. If this e-mail circulates to friends, family, enemies...that is your business. However, if you or someone in your address book happens to personally know, sort of know, know the brother/cousin of, thought you saw in the grocery store buying tofu or have a nail technician that looks exactly like one of the Bachelorettes on the
show...none of this is personal and I'm sure they are all lovely people.

Website count: 153,137

ABC decides to stretch one hour of juicy material into two hours of torturous, uncomfortable, “bless his heart” moments of McHottie trying to make out Nashville as if they were not first cousins. There was one “kissing” shot where they ALMOST kept the little chunks of last night’s fajitas (thank you Jill) from rising in my throat. You remember it, right? The one ABC insisted on playing OVER and OVER and OVER again because they had nothing else to prove these two kids were in love? Luckily, I had a margarita (thank you Bob) to wash down my dinner…and keep my food in my stomach where it belonged. (Forgot to take my bucket to the watching party.)

We begin the end of this journey with McHottie’s parents (he insists on continuously calling them Roger and Donna), sister, brother-in-law and two nieces arriving at the castle in Paris. They’ve come over to check out the girls and help McHottie decide who to pick.

Roger and Donna are normal parents. They are concerned for their son. They’ve watched him go through high school, college, medical school, etc. and want him to find his one true love. According to Roge, finding his soul mate is the most important decision he will ever make. McHottie tells Roger and Donna that they will tour Paris while the rest of them go to a McDonald’s playground to meet Nashville.

We find Nashville at a small table with colors and markers, doodling Mrs. Nashville McHottie in pink with hearts surrounding. She meets the family, connects with the girls immediately and is whisked away by the sister. They have a deep conversation. Nashville says that her brother is hot. Sister thinks Nashville is a sweetheart.

And for some reason, Nashville forgets that she’s already made a fool of herself once before and decides to do the “Ah Tootie Tah” dance with the nieces. She’s a kindergarten teacher. Surely…SURELY she has more tricks than the Ah Tootie Tah dance!

Fortunately, one niece thinks she is cool and tells the ABC camera that she likes Nashville’s voice.

Meanwhile, we find McHottie in the pit of colored balls with his sister drinking beer. If I had a quarter for every time I wished I could drink beer in a ball pit with my sister…I’d be a rich woman.

McHottie gives Nashville a few straight lipped pecks and we are off to meet Roger and Donna.

Roger is a simple man. Roger doesn’t watch The Bachelor like we do. He has confused it with Survivor and asks his son if the woman wins a million dollars if picked. This is when I fell in love with Roge. What a guy!

Donna is a simple woman. She wants her family to be happy. And when she hears that they may be happy, Donna cries. And when Donna cries…the sister cries. And since this whole scenario is a chance for two girls talk lovingly about how much they are smitten kittens with Donna’s son…there was a lot of crying at dinner, before dinner, after dinner, etc.

Roger and Donna take Nashville into another room and ask about McHottie meeting her parents. Nashville was an emotional train wreck and nervously laughed the entire time. Then Donna started crying.

They return to the dinner table and McHottie talks about how he just wants to go home. And then Donna and the sister start crying.

I look around at the group. Did we miss something? Why are they crying? I don’t get it?

McHottie walks Nashville out to her car, kisses her like he’s a dead fish, and returns inside to dish. Roger thinks she has great goals and is wonderful. Donna cries. Sister cries. Brother-in-law says that it will be hard to meet Mowana and not think about Nashville.

McHottie becomes VERY defensive at this statement and pleads with Roger and Donna to keep an open mind. He says that Mowana is slightly different that Nashville.

Slightly different? I ask as I raise one eyebrow…

Next up is Mowana. Oh Mowana. There she is reading poetry so she can recite random romantic catch phrases to Donna and Roge.

Picture it. We’re at a zoo. Mo tells the sister that she is pushing the end of a long journey (blah) and that she draws a level of comfort (vomit) from McHottie. Sister starts crying. Mo says that France was a turning point in her life (give me a break) and that she found a major part of herself in McHottie (please) and they both are handed Kleenex from the intern.

The brother-in-law asks if she is tied to the OC. She says no and he encourages her to move to Fort Worth. Because there are so many mountains there…

Meanwhile, the ABC intern has the niece over in a corner and demands that she draws pictures of both Nashville and Mo. He promises her a My Little Pony and sack full of gummy bears if she draws hearts and an arrow pointing to Mo.

McHottie takes his bro-in-law aside and asks what he thinks Donna and Roger will think of Mo. Bro-in-law says both ladies are smart, good-looking and warm.

McHottie meets up with Mo, hugs her goodbye and she gives him a flirtatious wink before leaving.

Later, McHottie prepares Donna and Roger for Mo’s visit. He wants them to be honest but open minded. Donna looks bored.

Mo arrives with the famous hump in her pony tail. She double talks through a ton of questions from Donna and Roger. For instance:

“What do you like about our son?”
Mo: Something reached out to me and touched me.

“How was the home town date with your parents?”
Mo: I value their opinion.

“How did you feel about Travis on your dates?”
Mo: I felt nothing on the first date. The second date, there was a self discovery.

“What do you like about Travis?”
Mo: It’s not my character to answer that question.

Seriously. What a wank! It is at this point that our watching party starts yelling at the TV. It was great. We kept waiting for her to speak. Nothing. SILENCE. I literally had a conversation with Rebecca, who was sitting next to me, that lasted I’m sure five minutes. Mo sits with a smug look on her face…determined not to break. Finally, she gives a token Walt Whitman answer and states, “I never encountered another person who has looked at me…known nothing about me…and found myself.”

Roger and I aren’t buying it. Sister and Donna may be crying, but Roger and I need more answers.

They take Mo to the isolation room and ask…AGAIN…what do you like about our son.

Irritatingly, she answers…”Lots of things” with an annoying smile.

Roge doesn’t back down. “I have a hard time understanding what you like about Travis.”

Mo detects frustration in Roger’s voice and decides now is the time to break out the Academy Award winning soliloquy that she has been practicing for weeks.

ABC starts the dramatic music. ABC intern is at the light switch ready to fade on cue. Mo begins:

“I am a human being. When I look into McHottie’s eyes, I see my soul looking back…and it ROCKS me to my core. I’m a solid person. I can’t explain my feelings. They are too pure to understand. Where it goes from here is out of my hands.”

And here come the water works from Donna. Mo is so DEEP. She is so IN LOVE. She’s not crazy at ALL!

Poor Sister. She is crying too. But her tears are tears of frustration. She LOVES Mo. But there is no connection there.

McHottie is concerned. Sister and Roger aren’t buying it. He feels they didn’t see the fun-loving Mo. The Mo that jumps off boats and rides jet skis fast. The Mo that surfs and wins bike races. She gave me her heart and soul…

SHOPPING
This was pretty boring if you ask me. The Moms came to shop for Final Rose dresses and wedding rings. The funniest part was Nashville’s Mom reading off of cue cards and how she told her daughter that her dress wasn’t too sparkly.

Tennis with Nashville
Nashville’s last date is involves getting her butt handed to her on the tennis court. We all agreed that she looked cute in her little skirt. Good thing she remembered to bring that to Paris.

She gets takeout for McHottie and they eat on fluffy pillows on the floor. Anyone notice the recycled chinchilla from dates before? I did.

Nashville tells McHottie that if she had a list of qualities she wanted in a boyfriend, he would be it. He looks down. She says she is glad that he is here. McHottie continues to look down and says, “thank you.”

It is at this point that my fellow viewers began to waver. HE’S LOOKING DOWN! HE DIDN’T SAY HE WAS HAPPY TO BE THERE TOO! HE LOOKS HURT!

Nashville presses on. McHottie is obviously trying to nap, and she is talking up a storm.

“Do you know how much I like you?”
McHottie answers with a head nod.

“Because I don’t want you to leave if you don’t know.”
McHottie treats her like a four-year-old and whispers for her to just enjoy the moment.

“I don’t want you to leave…”
McHottie interrupts her thought process with his signature finger over the lips move that he demonstrated on Stoner Sarah. Then he pulls a “Mowana” and says, “It’s not about that. It’s about this.”

Brilliant. I’m using that one.

Cooking with Mowana
Mowana finds solitude in cooking. She loves to cook. She cooked in the house. McHottie remembers this and decides to open up a huge can of worms and ask her about the house. This concerns him. In fact…he is perplexed.

“Why did they hate you?” he asks as he stirs his tea with a nine-inch butcher knife.

Mo is smart. She’s manipulative. She decides to turn on herself and valiantly take the blame: “I was shocked that I saw my soul in you. I didn’t have any expectations. I was just along for the adventure and free trip to Paris. Unfortunately, I found myself here…in your guts…and am looking to see where this journey takes us.”

Signature wink.

They eat dinner. She spouts out another homily of the wonder that is McHottie:
1. There’s nowhere I’d rather be.
2. I know who you are.
3. I now know why I came here…you
4. You gave me a piece of myself, therefore I will be content
5. I want you
6. I don’t need but would like to be in your life
7. You get me and understand who I am
8. Glad I got to share this with you

Now that’s a recipe for some serious attraction ladies and gentleman. Fatal attraction.

Rose Ceremony

The day has come. McHottie is staring at pictures of the final two girls sitting next to a Zeus statue on a mantle. Both girls are journaling. Very Bachelor to journal I’ve learned. McHottie picks out a ring. The girls get hair and makeup done. Mo does some neck massages in the limo. She steps out of the car and flashes her right boob to all of America. Chris Harrison tries not to laugh.

She enters the room. McHottie is scared for his life. All sharp objects have been put away and the candles have been extinguished. He tells Mo that he was intrigued by her mystery, many layers and amazing connection.

At this point we are waiting for the “but”…

And there it is.

He tells her he has to follow his heart, tries to hug her with her hands behind her own back and whispers that he is sorry for rejecting her soul.

And this is where it gets good. You know you were excited to hear what psycho had to say!

Mowana thinks she may pass out from the pain. She is emotionally devastated. She thought is was a joke. She starts to hyperventilate. She chokes out something about being vulnerable and feeling like a fool and that her Magic 8 Ball had been dead wrong! The ABC intern starts to hand her a paper bag, but the ABC psychotherapist yanks it away and forces Mowana to continue with the breakdown. GUYS LIKE THAT DON’T MARRY GIRLS LIKE ME Mowana shouts. OH THE PAIN!

Great TV. Two thumbs up. Worth the two hour wait.

Then we have to sit through McHottie choosing Nashville. He tried to fake us out with a dramatic pause. I didn’t buy it. He gives her a lame engagement ring on a necklace and says it symbolizes connection. How appropriate that we end the night with our favorite word. They peck kiss. He picks her up and says he’s lucky.

All in all, it was a pretty decent year. Do I think they will last? I’m going with no. But I’ll be happy if they prove me wrong.

It’s been an amazing couple of weeks and I truly thank you all for reading the recap. I continue to be amazed at all of the encouragement written on the message board. I had a fun time writing it and I hope you enjoyed reading it. Here’s looking forward to another season of Bachelor bliss in the near future!

Until then…

All about the shame, not the fame,

Lincee

I can't belieze it is over!

Chris Harrison: Are you out there? Where is the After the Final rose??? Are they still together? Hello???

Anonymous said...

I am definitely sad that it is over, I will miss reading the weekly blogs!

And I just can't bellieve Mo. Talk about the one faking it! She could give Susan a run for her money!

I hope he and Sarah do make it. They do have a better chance since they are already living in the same town. I am sure it will be on the cover of some magazine next week. Assuming nothing happens with TomKat or Nick & Jessica.

Lincee, you rock. You don't rock me to the core, but I've looked forward to your recaps for many seasons now. Thanks for the laughs!!

Great recap.

I for one liked Sara because she seemed like the only one who would actually be a real girlfreind plus she lives in his town. Wouldn't it make sense to pick someone you can actually go on dates with?

Lived in Nashville for 13 years so I'll be keeping up on our little couple. Check out tennessean.com for updates. My old town is obsessed with the Bachelor.

lincee, thanks for the laughs. i think someone else asked, but is there no after the rose special? don't you think that you will be bored with only one job now? surely there is some other reality show that deserves your greatness. there are just too many idiots on reality tv to let your talent go to waste. let us know. we will be waiting.

Lincee, this has been another fabulous season! Thank you for all the laughs and I can't wait until next season. You're the only reason that I still watch! Until then, enjoy your seasonal Oreos and try the Dove Truffle Eggs. I'll see you on the SOUTHSIDE!

Anonymous said...

Any word on how they are since the ceremony and if there will be a interview?

Anonymous said...

Thanks for everything this season Lincee! You are tooo funny! Can't wait until the next season just to see what you have to say about it!!!

Anonymous said...

Why did Mo paint her fingernails black??

And why on earth would someone put a 2+ carat diamond ring on a chain!!! Craziness!

Thanks Lincee for brightening my day each and every Tuesday!

Anonymous said...

You are awesome... You write/think just like my friend and I do.

Anonymous said...

Thanks!! I enjoyed reading every word.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know when we can find out what happend to them! I need a Good Morning America interview or something with the happy couple!

Anonymous said...

Lincee, thank you for your comments. I think I'll go into withdrawal next week when there's no Bachelor recap! I agree with you, it peobably won't last between Travis and Sarah, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it does.

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who though Nashville's mom was totally hilarious? Talk about a fish out of water. Everything she said was scripted! I just laughed and laughed at her...... she's no Susan when it comes to acting!

Anonymous said...

Did anyone notice how many times Mo said "human being" Good to know that although she has had intense feelings for snakes and hamsters, she has never had them for another "human being".....

Will miss the weekly blogs...if you hear anything about Dr. McHottie and Nashville keep us posted.

Anonymous said...

I had to rewind and then mop up the water I spit all over my coffee table when I saw Travis stirring his drink with that giant knife. HILARIOUS.

Sarah's increasingly desperate attempts to convince Travis to select her because he enabled her to check off everything on her 'what i want in a man checklist' were greatness, especially when combined with her Marty McFly 'i feel like i'm kissing my brother' kisses.

Lincee...what an amazing connection you've had with us. Amazing. Awesome. Connection. What a journey.

Did anyone hear the heartbeat when Travis was hugging Moana? Pretty freaky.

Anonymous said...

So my prediction would be that Mowana could be the next Bachelorette? Wouldn't that be intresting.

Anonymous said...

Excuse the frankness...but does anyone else want to know what "piece" of Mowana Travis took?

Anonymous said...

11:08 was a response to 11:10, don't know how I went back in time to publish that!

I heard the word "intense" a million times. Oh my.

I think Moana's nails were a very dark, deep maroon, not black. i thought the same thing.

Could doc's sis and kids have been any cuter?

Maybe mowana should become the next naked chef?!

I was just wondering where the ABC stylists were when McHottie's mom showed up with that hair!

I couldn't focus on anything else!

Anonymous said...

I'd stay with him just to keep the diamond...yes, I'm shallow. And at least put that thing on your right hand, my goodness. That shows a "connection" as well.

I noticed the beating heart too. ABC got me. I didn't know if it was an add in or for real. I'm thinking it was for real.

Thoughts?

I am sooo sad this is over. What will I do on Tuesday morning besides waiting on Lincee's recap??? At least Amazing Race is starting tonight!

BTW - We should all write ABC very mean letters for leaving us hanging last night. I mean you gotta give us something after the final rose!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for a great season of recaps, Lincee! Please please consider doing recaps for another show...I bet you could do wonders with American Idol! And, I totally agree with 11:10. Moana should be the next bachelorette!!

Anonymous said...

Lincee will you please recap another show for us! How about Grey's anatomy I know you can come up with some hilarious stuff! We're addicted, you can't just go away!!

Lincee- Great final recap. Please do an "After the Final Rose" recap should ABC choose to do one. If they forgo the recap, then thanks for making this season more than I could have ever imagined. HILARIOUS is what you are. I will miss you.

And btw, you and your sister CAN have beer or wine at your local Chuck E. Cheese fine dining establishment's ball pit. Takes the edge off fo' sho'! Maybe that is why Sarah let her granny panties show so much when she was climbing around w/the kiddos. ???

Thanks Lincee for a great recap. Am I the only one that noticed Travis leaving Mo's with a set of glasses that looked like she got them at Target.....was that a gift for him, or did the interns forget glasses for something else and he was just a messanger?

Anonymous said...

OMG it's over! YES! McHottie's mama's HELMET. Greatness. As many tears that flowed and the helmet stayed put. Hello Aquanet! And the heartbeat - his or hers? Either, it was great. ALMOST better than the nip slip. Chris, oh Chris..you saw a Moboob. And the ring on the chain? HELLO a Chopard on a dimestore chain.. so classy. Almost like when I dated the senior quarterback and he gave me his class ring and I had to tape the underside so it would stay on my hand. I can say I have never seen a man sweat so much. Anyone notice that half the time his hair was drenched and he looked like a lost drowned rat? Guess even hotties can't take MO and chicken soup. He will be cheating with some crazy tramp stamped, mohawk wearing vampire in 2.5 months! I can't wait! Lincee...you say what we all think, we'll MISS YOU!! You will always have "a" part of us.

Yes. "You have a piece of me that I can never get back?" I completely think that was a dig at Travis - forgoing the individual suites and staying as a couple doesn't seem to have worked according to Moana's masterplan. The "piece" she is referring to is most certainly NOT her heart....

I will be in withdrawl until the next Bachelor/ette! Thanks for all the great recaps Lincee!

Donna's hair was too much! And did anyone hear "bowmp chicka bowmp bowmp" in their heads when Roger said - How 'bout we go in the next room and get to know you a little better? - to Sarah? No? Me, neither.

That aside, I loved McHottie's family - they were just great. And I can definitely see Mrs. McHottie hitting it off with Mrs. Nashville.

Anonymous said...

Just an idea, but... Even if there is no "After the Final Rose" on ABC, why don't you give us a recap anyway? Let's see how talented and creative you really are!

Word in Nashville this morning (which is where I am) is that McHottie and Nashville are splitsville. Rumor (and I emphasize rumor) is that she's dating someone else.

Did anyone else find it odd that things that Mowanna liked about McHottie were actually about her? Like she likes how he's a mirror that reflects her own self back to her? She's done this a few times. Weird.

Lincee, I have been following your recaps for years! You are the best! So sad this season is over. Props to ABC for blurring out Mo's nip when she got out of the limo. Poor girl.

Anonymous said...

Lincee... here's my top three "almost wet my pants laughing" moments from your recap today.
1. Mo's lame Walt Whitman quote...seriously, someone tell her that quoting high school english to parents is so 5 minutes ago.

2. "It's not about this, its about that"...deep thoughts by Dr. McHottie

3. The makeshift slasher knife McHottie decided to use as a spoon.

Lincee,

I'm sad too. SLJ must be in court because he hasn't put his 2 cents in yet.

I'm so happy for you. I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with an offer from ABC to write. If that happens, please let us know so we can watch. Will you make fun of your own show?

Happy Easter Oreo Season!

The whole ring on a chain is such a Sex and the City ripoff. It was cheezy then and hasn't improved any since!!!!
Thanks Lincee it has been lots of fun!! Enjoy the time off between shows.
FYI did anyone else see that the guy from Houston that Maredith passed up was offered to be the next bachelor but turned it down!

Y'all who are knocking the "Ah tootie Tah" dance obviously don't have kids. They do that at every story time every week in Nashville, and it is the kids' and the parents' favorite thing. It is hilarious and adorable!

Lincee, I am so proud of you! Great blogging success! I can't wait to read your recaps of future seasons. I agree with other comments that:
a.) you should be the next bachelorette! you would be so fun as the bachelorette because you would be real and tell it like it is!
b.) abc should hire you as a writer
c.) we will miss you!!!

Thank you for once again making the much underused "bless her heart" part of the American vernacular once again!

Love you, sister!!!

Ditto on the final rose question... what the heck?!?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

The best part of the whole episode, is when he gave Moana the "but..." The music went from a dainty lighthearted melody, to a faint, dark heartbeat like drum beat.."boom booommmmm". I laughed my ass off!!! Thank God for DVR cuz I got to rewind it like 5 times, over and over, I was rolling. (My girlfriend was not amused since she was ready to move on...but I assured here that with the commercial times between Moana and Nashville, we had plenty of buffer time in the DVR to fast forward through the infinite commercials)

Keep up the good work Lincee, your website “completes” the Bachelor experience. Without it, the show would be another show about a dude trying to pick up chicks….boom boooommmmmmmm

Oh...one more thing....Did anyone catch Mo saying that she had given him a piece of herself that she could never get back? So did she really give him a piece or even more? Geez....that is what it sounded like! Jane!!!

I don't know why Travis picked Sarah - maybe he needed another friend and didn't want to ruin their friendship by rejecting her on National television. But if I have to hear how "perfect" he is for her one more time I'm going to vomit.

Lincee cannot be the next bacherlorette because she's married to Husband Chris (not to be mistaken for Host Chris). :)

Did anyone else think that in her limo rant, Mo sounded like she had stepped straight out of Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion?

Hey
Great blog Lincee and funny comments too!! I live in Nashville but I haven't heard anything yet...I am sure rumors will be flying all day!
And yes this page is doing weird things!! I don't know why it is jumping up to the top again!!
Moana seriously has some baggage that she is hiding and I just wonder if she is okay now? I mean she had to hide it for 2 months that she got dumped... who knows.. not that I really care because iwas rooting for Sarah all along.. They may not last but Sarah was the most normal one left... just your good ole southern girl!!

1:10, check your facts, there is no more husband Chris.

I can't believe it's over and I can't believe Travis picked the right girl! Thank you Lincee for all your super recaps! Look forward to more...

Thanks for the recaps Lincee!
Relax a bit in the off season!

Well, like everyone else, I'm going to miss the recaps, Lincee -- I came in around episode 3 or 4 I think, but I was hooked! It'll be interesting to see who's picked to be the next 'Bachelor/ette', if only to see what Lincee gets to work with next time. :-) Yes, I'd especially tune in if Moana was chosen -- as long as someone tells her the bump in her hair is hideous! As for the 'happy couple' -- I wish them the best, whether they're still together or not. I'm enough of a romantic to hope they're still together, but enough of a realist (or cynic, perhaps, thanks to a recent divorce) to think it's close to impossible to find true love in such an unnatural situation. Ah, but it makes for GREAT TV, doesn't it?

I'm going to miss all of y'all's comments, too!

Anonymous said...

I can see post-rejection Moana with that huge butcher knife carving herself up like in Fatal Attraction. Maybe Travis knew he was gonna dump her and was worried about the same thing, so he stirred his tea with it so that he could nonchalantly leave Moana's place with the knife? He also took the two juice glasses to throw Moana off to seem like he was just a Klepto.

Anonymous said...

Thanks so much for passing the time at work! You are HILARIOUS-- I demand blogs for seasons to come!

Thank you!

Anonymous said...

I'm so glad you pointed out Moana's terrible ponytail... I am from the south, so I don't know if that's the trend in CA, but it's DEFINITELY not where I live.

Anonymous said...

I forgot to add that I also thought is was LAME-O to put the engagement ring on the neckalace and tell her he "likes" her. Although, Travis is a smart cookie - he doesn't have to get engaged, but gets to give the girl a 2 carat diamond that didn't cost him a dime! I wonder what ABC thoguht of that one?

Did anyone notice how he said, "Hello beautiful" to both Mowana and Nashville when they entered the room for the final rose? Nashville was probably thinking she was the only one called "beautiful."

The ABC intern totally paid all of those girls off at the women tell all show to say Mowana was decent...it was very confusing but so glad he chose Nashville...So sad that it is over! My weekly dose of hilarium is gone until next season...looking forward to it!!!!

I will miss Straight Lawyer John. The "when her ass is wider than France" comment was just pee-your-pants hilarious. I hope we can all keep blogging even without Lincee's recaps.

I will miss my BFF, Jenn, and our back and forth about college hoops. May the best team win (as long as it's the Jayhawks)! :)

I will miss, most of all, Lincee's humor that made my Tuesdays brighter and helped all of us to become addicted to blogging. Thanks for everything!! Can't wait for the next season.

PS: Does anyone else really want to know what those comments removed by the author say? I'm dying to know (unless they were rude to our Lincee, of course).

i live in nashvegas, too, and am planning a trip to the ER soon. maybe a fall down the stairs... an overdose on pain meds... anything so i can meet the travster. maybe we'll have a connection.

bottom line: i didn't really like any of the girls for him. boooooring. i mean, we all know it's not gonna last. this is no ryan and trista. so, knowing that, he should have just gone for the hottest piece of ass possible--susan. yeah, she'd be acting, but all girls do it at some time or another... in some bed or another. :)

thanks for the blog. til next year.

Lincee, as usual, great recap. Going to miss coming on here 14 times a day to see what people are saying!

Anyway, just a few observations that I dont think have been mentioned yet:

1. I know it was mentioned in past episodes, but it really stuck out in this one. On the limo ride out, Moanna never had ONE TEAR leave her eyes. Remembered that from the past so I was looking out for it. I'm sure everyone (straight guys excluded) have sobbed uncontrollably at some point in their lives. When you cry like that you generally have tears pouring off your face, ruining your makeup, getting all over your clothes. You know, serious waterworks. But none for Moanna. She kept wiping her eyes but nothing was ever there. Maybe I'm crazy...

2. Did it seem like Stork was trying to convince himself that he made the right decision? He kept saying, "I'm so happy". Was he trying to convince us or himself?

Holla to all the straight dudes out there. Here's to now being able to fill our monday nights with some type of televised sporting event.

WDE,

Dude

Ok I apologize for the length of this but I thought you people would appreciate a good bit of gossip. A friend of mine forwarded the email below. The writer of the email is Mike's (Travis' brother-in-law) brother...

Before anyone gets all excited...yes, Travis did pick Sarah, BUT NO
>they aren't still together. Kind of a bummer after the episode last night.
>Apparently they talk almost everyday still, but it's platonic. She
>might even be dating one of the Tennessee Titan football players now.
>crazy.
>
>She has gone to like every single charity and socialite function in
>Tennessee since the show has been over. That is not Travis' kind of
>deal at all. she wants to soak up the lime light of the show's
>aftermath and Trav just wants it to be over.
>
>Haha...he was wasted last night. he watched the show with a bunch of
>his buddies.
>
>He isn't going on any of the talk shows b/c they aren't together. ABC
>doesn't want him to because of that.
>
>Andrea was definately pulling for Sarah...she knew she won. But, she
>was suprisingly upset (crying even) during the scene when he let Moana
>go. After meeting her, she actually really liked her.
>
>Get this, Andrea said that Travis said...if he were to do it all over
>again....two girls he would have held on to would be Susan and get
>this, Jehan.
>
>ABC buys the ring that he gave to her. She gets to keep it no matter
>what!! Sarah and Travis are going hiking together today. ABC offered
>Travis $20K just to film them while they go hiking. He turned it down.
>Jeezz....take the money!!!

Would you consider doing recaps for The Apprentice? If not, I'm going to have Lincee withdrawals!

Anonymous said...

Ok, I've enjoyed this immensely. I personally think, just to make it interesting, that "rocked to the core" Mo should be the next Bachelorette. I think, maybe, she could "find her soul" again, and cook some more for all the men! :D

Anonymous said...

did anyone else notice moana's wardrobe malfunction in the limo as she was hyperventilating? that dress just did not fit...it fell as she was getting out of the lims AND as she was sitting in the limo, rocking herself to her core.

lincee, you are too funny! have you considered amazing race recaps? it premieres tonight, by the way..

Seriously at 1:11 p.m.

The reason the comment page is loading slowly and giving everyone problems is because of Chevy's picture at 12:40 p.m. It takes forever to load and then it never really loads correctly. Refresh your page and you will see what I mean. You get a message saying that the 1 item left to load is Sarahheadshot.jpg from littlefluffycloud.com.

Maybe Chevy could edit her comment and remove the pic? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Anonymous said...

Do you have any idea how many people just read your recap and don't actually watch the show? You should do some sort of survey or something because I think the number would be pretty unbelievable. Not to mention how many people only watch the show just so that they will get the full benefit of the recap.

Anonymous said...

lame, lame, lame ring on a necklace, barf!!!

I would've said thanks but no thanks.

The word love was never used through the whole show. How boring and meaningless? I thought it was the worst final rose ceremony ever. He didn't have sweet nothings to whisper in her ear. Nothing, just "I choose you."
BORING!!

Unknown said...

2:09-loved the family email scoop. If it's true I'm sad for McHottie. He really grew on me...not in a wart way either.

Lincee, your recap made an amazing connection with me. The whole 9 inch knife stirring thing was hilarious-I love my DVR too. Can't believe our fun has come to an end!! (oh and the whole heartbeat thing with Mo and Travis was freaky!)

#1 Fan, SLG, Dude, BFF Jayhawk and all the regulars-I hope ya'll (SLJ, this Texan girl isn't much of a "you all" person) come back next season. Perhaps we should have a regular Tuesday gather around the blog bar (aka Cheers) and share.

I'm glad we at least have Amazing Race & Idol! And, I'll be anxiously awaiting the short lived return of Alias...

Amber said...

Thanks again Linsee, and know next Tuesday is going to be as sad and dry as the day is long without a recap to get me through.

Don't bother with the AOL video... its just Mowiner crying, and Travis/Sarah after the rose ceremony. ABC hasn't scheduled any follow up shows. ODD.

OK, lets take a poll:

Which women did Doc sleep with?

My vote:
Moana on overnight date night
Susan on overnight date night
Nashville? He never even saw her with her clothes off.

Also, did anyone else notice that when Moana got out of the limo last night, they had to keep blurring out her nipple because she kept popping out of her dress?

Matt again (Canada Danielle’s friend eh)

I just have to say that Sarah is America's Sweetheart in my opinion. I am really going to miss seeing her on Monday nights. She was my choice for Travis from the beginning. I am so happy for them. If I ever make it to Nashville, I sure hope I can run into the happy couple.

I have felt such a connection with you Lincee. Its been an amazing journey. I realize when reading your posts that I find pieces of myself in every word. Its amazing. If I were an apple it cleary would have rocked me to my core, but I'm not an apple so I guess that is really not such a good metaphor.

I'll admit I thought it was MO all the way, I guess I was a sucker for the editing and was just convinced that the good Doctor would not want to make out with his cousin after the final rose ceremony. Guess thangs in Tennessee is diffrant.

Oh and one final point it was MO's left boob that had to be blurred out by ABC as it fell out of her dress not her right one. I was carefully watching them and it was definitely the left one.

Anonymous said...

Word on the web is that McHottie and Nashville are already over. They supposedly dated for awhile and went on a few trips, but ended up deciding to just be friends. Shocker. McHottie supposedly realized through this process that his ex of 5 years really is the girl for him. Probably won't have an After the Final Rose show.

You'd think he would have figured that out BEFORE he agreed to be on the show. What a waste!

Lincee - you are the best - thanks for a great season, the new blog and so many funny blogger fans.

My thoughts...
1) Nashville's doodles - she is definitely a kindergarten teacher
2) Nashville's nervous laughter with Rog and Donna - bless her heart
3) Travis stirring drink with butcher knife he so clearly didn't want Mowana to have
4) What was with the set of glasses - a parting gift
5) Did you notice Mo lived next to a brassiere in Paris - classic!
6) Why were all Mo's dresses strapless? Nobody with big boobs likes strapless dresses - trust me!
7) I believe we saw Mo's nip as she got of the car and during he dramatic audition for Young and the Restless in the limo
8) Did any one else just shut off TV after Mo's breakdown - boring!
9) Where is After the Final Rose? Why weren't they on Good Morning America? What are they hiding from...not a good sign.

"This is going to sound like a friend of a friend of a friend thing, and it kind of is but not too far removed. Suffice to say that the Bachelor and Sarah are no longer dating and that this whole process has made him realize that his former gf of 5 years is the woman for him. He and Sarah did date for a while and even went on several trips but just decided to be friends in the end. Travis is also in talks to be the new doctor for consultation on ABC shows (The View, etc).

This info comes straight from his sister, the one who was on the show last night. You heard them mention Fort Worth, which is where I went to undergrad. My gf babysits for a close friend of the sister so she got all this knowledge relayed to her last night."

Oh! And, he said "I love you Sarah" at the end but called ABC and asked them to take it out (which they did) because "it wouldn't be fair to her now."

Great commentary of the last episode Lincee.
My mother and I figured it out. What we have here is a couple of WASP kids who fall into the "nice Christians" category. Mo was just not "pure" enough for Travis' family.
This will be one nice Sunday church going family. Sarah will make a "nice" doctor's wife. Remember Chris' comment on that?
I guess Travis is truly a dork under that handsome face of his.

Anonymous said...

I checked Mohawka's myspace and figured out the problem with her lack of ability to express herself. She is but a mere high school graduate. No match for Trav. in the long-run really.

Plus, since their only attraction was physical, she could hardly announce that to the 'rents now could she?

And yes, Lincee is single.

realistically, no one knows if they are together or not. if nothing else, they probably really are good friends but if there's a chance for more, we're all going to have to wait and see since today is the first day they can be seen in public together.

and as far as the "they've taken several trips together" comment, his sis was on the radio today and said they'd only been able to be together once, in december. since this show finished filming before thanksgiving, i imagine that would weigh heavily on any relationship.

Just read your recap for the first time. Hilarious! My neighbor told me about it. Will read it religiously next season. Just a note: After ending a 22 relationship where I chose the safe one (friend over passionate one), he will regret it and be bored with her quickly. That perky southern belle routine will get old fast. Should have gone for the passionate one!

Anonymous said...

I disagree--passion, while fun in the beginning, burns out fast. It takes a solid foundation of friendship to be able to re-ignite the passion over and over again through the years.

Anonymous said...

Well, that was truly the fakest show (reality?) I have seen all year. ABC needs to produce "Bachelor-sickness bags" for us morons who tune in to this
vomit. Maybe the attraction is somewhere between watching a girl-fight and a train wreck. My imagination had MO grabbing Dr. Duh by the go-nads as soon as he said "bu..." and body slamming him
ala WWF. Then pullin' out a TASER
gun and screaming "BUT WHAT, DOC!?"
Now that woulda been an ending!
ANybody for "EXTREME BACHELOR"?

Anonymous said...

lincee, since you have had the pleasure of meeting Chris, will you please call him and find out what the true rumor is? Are they still together or not????

Anonymous said...

As for Roger's Million Dollar comment...he was not confusing Survivor and The Bachelor. He was just confusing the contract terms of the Bachelor and the women. The Bachelor has a $1M contract to do the show and keep mum about what happens afterwards. I know this through a dear friend who is high school buddies with Bachelor #1, Alex. I guess they don't offer the women the moolah...only the chance to make fools of themselves and have their hearts broken on national television.

Anonymous said...

My humble psycho-analysis of Moana...she was completely self-absorbed in some self-discovery journey and Travis was just a bit player. Did anyone else notice that she NEVER said anything directly about Travis, but only herself and how she felt? "I love how I feel when I am with him", "I found a piece of MYSELF", "I saw MY soul in his eyes", "I am rocked to MY core". That's why when his parents asked what she liked about him she couldn't come up with anything...she hadn't even noticed he was there, but only this mysterious, magical transformation she had gone through in Paris. Good for her, but bad for a relationship. The Stork family CLEARLY saw this and thank God Travis did too. No wonder Moana (or should I call her ME-ana) was shocked at the rose ceremony. She was so focused on how she was feeling, she never even noticed or asked he was feeling. So, that's my humble, non-professional, completely untrained psychiatric opinion.

Anonymous said...

As usual great recap, with just enough blatant cynicism mixed in.
What I can not help but think is that he is a conservative Southern doctor who basically did not make a choice because he "wanted" Mo but figured out at the last minute that she is a true American Psycho. They would have been a train wreck of a couple as soon as she went hot and cold like she did with her house mates. But he would have had some real fun for awhile.

I must say watching the last episode made me want to rip my eyes out. Honestly, Nashville was sooo annoying to me. She is like this crack addict waiting for a hit with Travis. Moana is too much of a woman for Travis to handle. I was very sad to see her go she is really cool.

But today I recieved the best news EVER - TRAVIS and NASHVILLE is no longer together. I recieved an email from a friend who knows a friend who knows Travis sister. Here is the latest (LOVE IT):

"Before anyone gets all excited...yes, Travis did pick Sarah, BUT NO they aren't still together. Kind of a bummer after the episode last night.
Apparently they talk almost everyday still, but it's platonic. She might even be dating one of the Tennessee Titan football players now.
She has gone to like every single charity and socialite function in
Tennessee since the show has been over. That is not Travis' kind of
deal at all. she wants to soak up the lime light of the show's aftermath and Trav just wants it to be over.
Jeezz....take the money!!!"

SO LADIES AND GENTS - IT IS OVER HEE HEE

For questioners of the EBAY link, do a search yourself on ebay for Susan Edds, and you will see what the link was for. Not a phishing scheme.

Straight Guy #3,

A big War Eagle on Flavor of Love. That show is so bad it doesnt even need a funny recap. Sunday night's episode might have been the best reality TV moment EVER.

"So what? So I've been on Blind Date, Family Feud, Friend or Foe, and a talk show, oh yeah, and now this show. I swear I'm not trying to get on TV."

Wont spoil the ending for anyone who hasnt seen it... Awesome.

How the hell did my post get above his? Crazy.

Does anyone think Moana will be next bachelorette? She is crazy, but I felt sorry for her, and her blurred out boob. I mean, c'mon ABC, can we just do another quick take of her getting out of the limo without Mo pulling a "Tara Reid"? Sarah looked like she was suppressing the urge to put a foot in Travis's Ah Tootie Tah when he gave her this amazing ring on a chain. He kept saying how happy he was, but he is only happy that he doesn't have to fake liking women on Nat'l TV anymore... Great season tho, loved the girls and the drama.

News from the sister...the ring was $93,000 and Sarah got to keep it!
Mohawka is on Myspace...search for Moana and you'll find her on the 2nd page under the headline "sort of like a miniature buddha, but with hair"

Watching the show every week wasn't half as entertaining as reading your recaps! Thanks so much for taking the time to make us all laugh- I hope you continue this in the future!

Lincee, Any scoop on if they are still together?

Thanks Lincee! Another great season. I am starting to think that the only reason I watch the show (Tivo'd with no commercial breaks, of course) is so I can laugh with your recaps the next day. See ya next time!!!

Anon 8:08 -

I think the place to go is "Lincee's Forum" which is located under "Links" in the column to the left on the main recap page. If this is wrong, and you guys are posting somewhere else, let us know! Thanks!
