(FROM VARIETY) – ABC is reviving its unscripted series The Bachlorette, which last aired in 2005, aiming for a summer debut. The series, a spin-off of The Bachelor, features a female attempting to find true love from among a group of male hopefuls. Bachelorette first aired in 2003. ABC is has not revealed any details about the new installment.

Any news on the new season of the Bachelor? I heard it starts March 17th. I love the idea of the Bachelorette coming back!

i love the bachelor - LOVE IT - but i tend to like the bachelorette way better! i'm hoping it will be jenni!!!!
I truly couldn't care less about the show. But, if it gives Lincee an opportunity to write your always humorous recap, then I absolutely want ABC to air the show. Does ABC realize that the ratings for the show go up when Lincee provides recaps? You make us want to see these characters. With this said, YES! ABC, RUN THE SHOW in the summer. And, don't pick Lincee as your B-ette because we need her writing recaps.
I don't think it will be Jenni. Last I heard she was back together with her ex boyfriend.
I think it will be the little vixen, Bevin or Moana for crying out loud. Wouldn't that be a hoot?! Anything fun for Lincee to write about is good with me. I love Bachelorette because of Lincee's witty prose. What a gifted writer. Until then...
If they are bringing back a girl from last season to be the next Bachelorette, how about web-toed girl or the human pretzel. . . JK! ;)
oh, I didn't think about that...if if is from the last season, it will be DeHhhhhahhhhhhna for sure. How boring on the screen but how wonderful for Lincee. Who will it be?????
I find the format of The Bachelorette much easier to stomach than that of The Bachelor. I guess I just like the idea of the guys fighting for the girl more than vice-versa.
Does everybody know that Travis Stork wrote his on book on dating and girls. It is called Don't be that Girl. Everyone has to check out the cover of the book.
Can we say "writers strike"? They need more reality shows to fill the time slots.
I'd prefer a Bachelorette show because then we can see 25 hot guys instead of just one!

Side note: I read in US Weekly today that Mischa Barton is apparently carrying on an "e-mail relationship" with our former bachelor Andy Baldwin and he thinks she's very talented....mmm hmmmm.....
Andy Baldwin was last photo'd w/ the former Mrs. Trump ... it was in In Touch last week -- she's 14 years older than him.
Bachelorette would be good -- let's hope not another Jen experience though!
Same as someone else...as long as Lincee writes the recaps. I don't even watch the show anymore but it's so much funnier with the recaps. I also love the occasional insert of Jim Halpert - cracks me up and I need some good laughs. PS I used to work at Disney in the early 90's as a tour guide in the magic kingdom ;)
I'm thinking DD because there was such uproar after the finale last season. Why not cash in on that? I think a lot of people would like her to find love... and i haven't heard anything about her being linked to someone. On the other hand I believe Bevin is serious about someone, as is Jenni.
But of course, the best part is the recap. I wouldn't watch without it!!! Yeah Lincee!!
You know, for the Bachelorette, they have to pick someone who is willing to make out with lots of guys and is spunky. I don't think they would pick DeAHHnna because she barely kissed HTC Brad (and that's just silly!). Bevin would be excellent if she doesn't have a serious boyfriend. She would be willing to make spark in any ol' locale. And she has the tramp stamp on her lower back to boot. I don't know how many of y'all remember Bachelor Bob's season, but the runner up bachelorette in that season (whatever her name was) is an option. She was fun and perky.
But I think the most hilarious bachelorette would be that socialite chick from Houston who was on Prince Lorenzo's season. Now that would be some good reality TV! And Lincee wouldn't have to do much to write her recaps. Just quote her direclty and we would all LOL.

Kelly Jo Kuharski was Bachelor Bob's runner up. No idea what she is up to but she would be fantastic. I only hope it is NOT Bettina - ugh! I think DD is too close having been burned - she wouldn't open up and I don't think she would be much fun to watch. Bevin would have been fun. I would like maybe Trish or Moana.
What about the blonde from Wisconsin from the Firestone season? She would be great!
If they're going to recycle someone, I sure hope it's not Deanna or Bettina. I would find them deadly dull to watch. They should also avoid featuring someone who's too much of a "good girl" (e.g. Meredith). Ideally it would be someone brand new; someone spunky and dynamic without being too much of a narcissist or drama queen. (Am I hoping for too much? LOL!)
From the way DD was talking in interviews at the end of The Bachelor, ABC was at least in talks with her about this. She kept saying it was such a great experience (I mean, aside from the whole getting her heart trampled thing) and that she would definitely be willing to do it again. It seemed clear to me they wanted her for The Bachelorette, but since it's been quiet since, maybe they will just pick someone entirely new.
Lincee, if you're reading this - you've got to start watching Rock of Love 2 on VH1 and recapping ... this is the bachelor for total skanks! It's Bret Michaels from Poison having his way with a bevy of women. American television at it's finest. It's on Sunday nights and repeats several times during the week. The first season was a hoot and then they made a second one - it's like a train wreck - you can't stop watching it.
Hmmm..it would be nice to have someone brand new but there are such skanks and drama queens from previous shows..I am sure they will pick one...any word on Texas boy and where he is now?
Anon 11:07pm - I agree! I love Rock of Love 2 but agree it is a train wreck....kinda like Bad Girls. Why oh why do i watch this cr*p???? I'm addicted though. Frenchie kills me!

The Bachelorettes seem to have a better success rate than the Bachelors do.
I LOATHED the way Brad CONSTANTLY said, "I was Taken Back." That is not even a phrase. The correct phrase is "Taken Aback." It wouldn't matter but he said it so many freakin' times that when I think of ole' Brad from Texas, I just get "Taken Back."
Also, I predicted DD from the past season and I said B-O-R-I-N-G. But I also said fun for Lincee and good material for Lincee so we will see. Thank God for Lincee is the main thing. Love you girl.
Ellen just announced it on her show that it is indeed DD. I find that to be so BLAH. She doesn't have enough personality for it! Man, where are the Tristas in the world!
